Congratulations to our recent graduates that are apart of Gold Rush Robotics and Charlotte Combat Robot Club: they are all graduating with a B.S. in Computer Science!
Sean plans on working for Schaeffler as a software engineer. Anthony plans on working for Wells Fargo in their infrastructure department. Zach is looking in the robotics field.
We love you all, thank you for all of your hard work. From the IEEE robot to DingDong and Homer — you will be missed.

This past Wednesday on April 22nd, GRR members Gabbi, Hudson, and Justin tabled at the “Party on the Planet” event hosted by , .uncc, and . It was a pleasure to go out to table about this year’s competitive robots as well as bring more insight to fellow UNCC students.
Thank you for everyone who came out to support GRR.

Thank you to everyone who made it to our advanced soldering workshop yesterday! We had a great time teaching you how to do surface mount soldering! It was lots of fun to see what you could make.
Join us next week on Monday, March 2nd, from 6:00PM to 7:00PM in the Basement floor of Kennedy for our laser cutting workshop. We'll be teaching you how to design parts using the Super Fab Lab's laser cutters. Gold Rush Robotics holds monthly workshops to teach topics surrounding engineering and sciences. We hope to see you there!

We had a great time volunteering at this past weekend! Demoing our robot for future engineers was an awesome experience, and great opportunity for us to show off what we've been working on this past year. Can't wait to do it again next year.
If you're interested in seeing what Gold Rush Robotics is up to soon, consider joining us on Wednesday at 5:30PM for our surface mount soldering workshop in EPIC 2230. You'll get to solder and bring home your own free circuit board, no strings attached! See you there!

This past Thursday we had our second sprint meeting! This meeting was about hardware related to our robot's mechanisms. We discussed ROS, or Robot Operating System, a software that gives tools to the club to manage the robot. We also discussed printed circuit boards for different parts of the robot, and how we'd be designing them from here on out on the software KiCad.
If you're interested in learning about designing your own circuit boards or how KiCad works, come out to our upcoming KiCad workshop! Any major and any level of experience welcomed.

We'd like to thank chancellor Sharon Gaber for visiting the Super Fab Lab! This morning, the chancellor visited and we got to demo our custom robot drive base to her; showing off it's "mecanum" wheels. With it, our robots can drive in any direction without needing to turn at all!
This year, we're building a whole new drive base for the IEEE SoutheastCon's 2026 student design competition! New challenges mean new designs. Gold Rush Robotics thanks chancellor Gaber for her time and hope she'll see our new robot soon.
