It's really that easy ... find the job that you like, keep working at it tirelessly, and it will surprise you how opportunities find you!
This concept drives from Aristotelian Ethics: Eudaimonia and Virtue. "Find the job that you like" relates to recognizing your natural inclinations or potential (Dynamis), "keep working at it tirelessly" corresponds to the process of training, practicing, and developing those skills into excellent action (Energeia), and "opportunities find you" reflects the idea that a life of Virtue and fully realized potential naturally leads to a fulfilling and successful life (Eudaimonia).
In modern positive psychology (ref. Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi), the concept of "flow" is a strong parallel. Flow is a mental state of complete absorption, fulfillment, and engagement in an activity that is challenging but within one's skillset. In essence, the philosophy posits that when you align your work with your inherent interests and pursue it with passion and diligence, you enter a state of excellence and fulfillment that naturally draws success and opportunities your way.
This idea also works socially quite well: be yourself and let friends find you! In business and career terms, "being yourself" translates to differentiation or establishing a unique value proposition, while "opportunities finding you" translates to organically building trust and fostering genuine relationships with your clientele to obviate the need for expensive marketing blitzkriegs.
