You can try so hard not to lose yourself in a relationship until you lose good relationships because you don’t ever try to push past your fear far enough to truly invest yourself into them.

Managing someone else's growth is just another way of abandoning your own needs.

There’s a big difference between someone who wants to be with you and someone who doesn’t want to lose you.

One is active, the other is passive.

Someone who is focused on building a stable relationship with you will be intentional about their role in your life. They will be proactive, responsive, and present.

Someone who is only focused on not losing you will simply ensure that you don’t have a big enough reason to leave while barely doing enough to give you any real reason to stay.

Are they intentional or complacent?

Stop failing to show up for yourself in order to show up for others around you. Every time you say ‘no’ shouldn’t be to yourself.

I hope you've been enjoying the introduction to my "Nervous System Repair After Trauma" series, which focuses not only on individual impacts but also on how relationships are impacted as well.

So far, we've covered the topic of gaining awareness before repair, which included why awareness can help to interrupt autopilot, but doesn't actually change anything, as well as what the roles of knowledge, regulation, coregulation, triggers, safety, faith, and timing are in the healing process.

This week, we are moving the series over to the Journey to Self-Awareness group exclusively so if you'd like to continue learning and growing with us, be sure to join to participate in the final two weeks of this series. We are beginning week 3 today!

The purpose in learning about attachment styles is not just to learn how to manage your avoidant and anxious patterns in order to maintain your relationship, but to learn how to heal the wounds that created them so that you each can become SECURE in your relationship.

Knowing you operate from insecure attachment patterns and understanding the reasons you react and respond the way you do isn’t enough. You still have to do the work of healing so that you eventually do not react and respond that way.

Hope this helps 🫶🏼

Rushing healing often feels productive. Responsible. Committed. Determined… It may even feel like you’re strengthening your faith, but urgency in healing is not always rooted in faith.

It is often rooted in fear that if you don’t fix it quickly, you’ll lose yourself, lose your way, or lose the relationship. Fear that if you don’t resolve it quickly, it means you’re failing. You might feel like the discomfort is proof something deeper is wrong.

Faith does not operate from panic. Faith does not demand instant outcomes. It trusts process. It allows time. Growth unfolds at the pace the body can sustain, not the pace the mind prefers.

Patience is often misunderstood as passivity. It isn’t. Patience is active steadiness. It is staying present without insisting on fast resolution. It is honoring that the nervous system cannot be forced into safety. It is choosing consistency over urgency.

Spiritual bypassing happens when faith language is used to accelerate healing instead of support it. When “let go and let God” replaces emotional processing. When “it’s all working together” becomes a way to avoid sitting with grief, anger, or uncertainty.

Faith should be grounding.

Grounding means the body can settle. It means you can stay present in discomfort without escaping it or rushing through it. It means you trust that repetition and consistency will teach the nervous system what words alone cannot.

Healing has a pace. That pace is not weakness. It is wisdom. Honoring the body’s timing does not mean avoiding growth. It means creating conditions where growth can actually take root instead of collapsing under pressure.

Steadiness requires trust… not trusting that everything will change overnight, but trusting that remaining present, regulated, and consistent will do more than forcing outcomes ever could.

Sometimes the most faithful thing you can do is slow down.
