๐ธRecommit to yourself and your goals so you can get exactly what you want
Wherever you are with your money, let's check-in and get you set up for financial success.

The Money Meetup is a call I host for women to get together and talk about money. Itโs a mix of coaching, discussion, and Q&A. More importantly, itโs a safe space where you can ask your questions, get support, and share without fear of being judged.
This will be a casual setting. Come as you are, where you are.
This is only the first half. Thereโs still so much you can do in 2024!

How have things been going with your money this year?
Great news! The Money Meetup is back just in time for a Mid-Year Money Review. ๐
Maybe you started the year ready to take on your money goals and finally get that debt paid off or nest egg savedโฆ but things haven't exactly gone as planned.
It's ok. Even when we have the best intentions sometimes things get off track.
Or, maybe your priorities have shifted and what you want has evolved and changed.
That's cool too. It's funny how fast that can happenโฆ
Or, maybe things have been going great and you havenโt taken the time to acknowledge your progress.
Yes! I want to celebrate with you!
Wherever you are with your money, let's check-in and get you set up for financial success as we go into the second half of the year.

Hands down, the biggest transformation I see in my clients is their mindset.
I absolutely can help you get financial results, but what's even more important to me is that you change the way you THINK about your money.
Your thoughts cause your feelings and your feelings cause your behaviors.
I can guide you through debt payoff and building savings, but to make the behavior stick you have to change your thoughts.
My role as your coach is to help you shift from unhelpful and unhealthy thoughts to:
โ๏ธ I have clarity about where my money is going.
โ๏ธ I reach my financial goals AND enjoy living right now.
โ๏ธ I spend guilt free.
โ๏ธ I understand how to manage my money.
โ๏ธ I have a plan to eliminate my debt.
โ๏ธ I confidently make financial decisions.
โ๏ธ I'm creating more financial security and freedom.

Iโm so glad I had the opportunity to attend the Girl! Your Brandโs a Big Deal conference. At the beginning of the week, I had never heard of it. I saw a post about a ticket and decided to check it out.
Thereโs something about being in the room with other people who are trying to grow, bring their vision to life, and lift each other up. I connected with some amazing women and appreciate the gems and inspiration from the speakers.
Getting caught up in the day to day grind, itโs easy to lose sight that what youโre doing is a big deal. Thankful to have had the reminder this weekend. โจ

Women in your 30s and 40s that feel behind with your moneyโฆ.
Repeating the message to yourself that you're behind is an unhelpful thought and creates a self-fulfilling cycle.
โก๏ธYou feel bad about being behind
โก๏ธSo you donโt take action and stay stuck
โก๏ธWhich leads to less results and little progress
โก๏ธAnd then validates your thought that you're behind
Letโs not forget the immense shame, guilt, and self-judgment that gets layered on because you know youโre behind but havenโt been able to fix it.
And the cycle continuesโฆโป๏ธ
The first thing is being aware of this pattern so you can disrupt it when you see it happening.
Next, stop telling yourself youโre behind.
You can continue to beat yourself up for what you didnโt do or shouldโve known, or you can start doing something now.
Pick ONE thing to start with.
Taking that one step to break the cycle can make all the difference.
Not sure where to start or what to do with your money? Send me a message or schedule a coaching consultation to see how we can get you moving in the right direction.

Over the weekend, I spoke at the inaugural Self Care Salon hosted by Civically, Inc and Joyfully Black. It was held at Afrospace, a self care club that provided the perfect intimate setting for this event.
I talked about how practicing financial self care has impacted my life personally and four habits to help the attendees practice as well. I used the acronym ๐.๐.๐ฅ.๐.:
โ
๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ธ-๐ถ๐ป: Create routines and habits where you prioritize regular check-ins on your money and spend time planning ahead. This could look like checking your financial accounts every few days to monitor your balance and transactions and weekly money dates to make sure your budget is on track.
โ๐๐น๐น๐ผ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ: Allocate your money for different purposes. Use separate accounts for bills and spending to make it easier to manage your expenses and see whatโs happening with your money. Create savings buckets to help navigate random or periodic expenses like car repairs, travel, and gifts. Once youโve figured out how much to allocate for your different types of expenses, save yourself some time and mental space by automating as much as you can.
โฑ๏ธ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐: Show yourself some grace and compassion by having a financial reset when things fall off track or donโt go as planned. Itโs not a matter of โifโ, but โwhenโ so donโt be too hard on yourself. Take a pause, hit the reset button, let go of any shame or guilt, and try again.
๐ค๐๐๐ฎ๐น๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ: While check-ins focus more on day-to-day, tactical money management, every now and then you need to zoom out and evaluate the bigger picture of your money. Whatโs working, whatโs not working, and what do you want to do differently? Is your money plan still relevant and aligned to your values? Is your money system still working well for you? Have your goals and priorities changed? Taking some time to evaluate can help you determine if changes are needed for your current circumstances or season of life.
Which one of these financial self care practices are you going to focus on? What else would you add?
Your financial self care is essential to your overall wellness and well-being. Send me a message to talk about how financial coaching can help support you in growing your relationship with money and implementing practical money management strategies to save more, pay off debt, and create more financial flexibility.

Over the last week, two clients shared the exciting news that they got engaged!๐
I love celebrating these life milestones with them. ๐ฅฐ
I also love that they decided to do the work to get a better handle on their money so they can go into their marriage in a much better financial position.
They have a practical system in place that makes managing their money easier and less stressful.
They have increased their savings from $0 to thousands.
They have paid off thousands in credit card debt.
They have tools to help them clearly see what's happening with their money and understand the impact of financial decisions.
One of the best parts is they ๐ง๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ญ good about what they're doing with their money.
They feel empowered and have less shame about their finances which has allowed them to have open and honest conversations with their partners about money.
Financial coaching has a ripple effect not just for you but others in your life as well.
Youโre learning money management skills and changing your relationship with money.
You're laying a solid financial foundation for life.
It's a ๐จ๐ช๐ง๐ต to yourself and your family that keeps on giving.
Itโs the best wedding present and marriage booster.

What if actually looking at your financial situation gave you MORE confidence about what you were doing with your money?
When working with clients, I ask how confident they feel about their money before, during, and at the end of their financial coaching program.
Iโve found that even when a client still needs to make significant progress in reaching their savings or debt pay off goals, they consistently feel more confident about their money.
I asked a client why she felt more confident, and she told me it was because now she had clarity and awareness about her finances and felt like she was at a new starting ground.
Her situation was about what she expected, but instead of guessing or assuming, it was confirmed and validated.
Thereโs knowingโฆand then thereโs KNOWING.
Looking at her situation head-on gave space for acceptance and surrender.
It helped it become more of a neutral circumstance rather than this nebulous, looming, somewhat unknown, scary thing.
She knew exactly where she was, so she was more confident about her next steps.
She felt much better ๐ฌ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ than she did before.
This is the work we do in financial coaching.
We look at your real numbers and stop guessing at what the situation is.
Maybe itโs better, maybe itโs worse, maybe itโs about what you expected.
But thereโs a drastic difference between when youโre speculating and when you're clear.
You canโt avoid facing your finances forever.
I can help you get clarity, gain confidence, and stress less with a tailored plan for your money. Send me a message or schedule a complimentary consultation to talk about financial coaching and how we can work together.

Four financial coaches sharing 'Our 4 Cents' about the real money matters that impact, inspire, and support black women.
This month's topic: High Value Men or High Net Worth Men - What Attracts Black Women?
There's been controversy across the interwebs about what it means to be a high value man (or woman). Does high value mean high net worth? Is a person's value tied to how much money they make? Let's talk about it!

Creating financial flexibility is about creating space in your money...
Having optionsโฆ
Being able to do what you want when you wantโฆ
Without jeopardizing your financial security or bigger goals.๐
๐๐พThat part is key!
Iโm so thankful for my past self who didnโt have all this money stuff figured out but was willing to do what she could while she learned more.
She positioned me to be able to leave a six-figure, secure government job and take a calculated risk to pursue entrepreneurship.
Thatโs what financial flexibility is aboutโฆ
Being able to taking advantage of opportunities
Help someone out
Have amazing experiences
Chase the dream
Try something new
Leave what is no longer aligned or working for you
I was recently on an episode of the Dare to Disrupt podcast with Zenica Chatman where I shared my personal story about creating financial flexibility.
We also talked about:
๐How to find balance with living now and preparing financially for the future
๐What you might need to add to your budget if it hasnโt been working
๐What to do if you feel overwhelmed or stuck with where to start with your money
๐Why money may not actually be the thing holding you back
๐The three things you need to have well-managed money
The conversation was sooo good! I was dropping knowledge bombs on myself when I listened to the episode! ๐
Take a listen, get inspired, and take action! ๐๏ธLink in comments.
I still have one spot left to start financial coaching this month. Start ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ธ with taking control of your money, saving more, paying off debt, and creating financial flexibility. Your future self will thank you. Send me a message.
