Merry Christmas! đđ âď¸
You are not unsaved if you vote Republican
You are not unsaved if you vote Democrat
You are not unsaved if you vote Independent
But,
You are surely unsaved if you make either of them your lord and savior
Exodus 20:3
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me
I want to address a warning we as people of God give to our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
I have heard it more in the last 16 years more than ever before.
Each time I hear it, I feel it is somewhat prejudice, bias, hypocritical, and extremely unscriptural.
[I donât mind if I donât get a lot of likes on this one. Those that know me, know that I am a teacher at heart and care more about your growth as disciples of Christ, than popularity and likes.]
Here it is:
âDONâT VOTE YOUR COLOR. VOTE YOUR CHRISTIANITY.â
Here is the error in that warning that is problematic for me as a believer.
First question.
How many Presidents have we elected before this election?
The answer is 46, with Joe Biden still in office.
2nd question. Out of those 46 presidents how many were black and how many white?
Answer:
45 white
1 black
3rd question.
Out of the 45 white men elected as President, how many times have anyone, especially those warning voters now, ever warned our white Christian brothers and sisters, âDONâT VOTE YOUR COLOR WHITEâ?
I dare say, not many, if any time did any of them walk up to a Christian white brother or sister, or post to our white Christian friends, and warn them not to vote their color white?
Do you agree?
I am not being prejudice here. I am showing you how you might be.
James 2:8-9 have love without partiality
Why do we only make that statement to black Christians, when there is a black person running for the office?
That is the prejudice mindset right there.
If a woman were running, we would probably warn other women, âDONâT VOTE YOUR GENDERâ.
But, we never said that when males ran for 46 times.
We would probably hear that same warning for Asians, Indians, Hispanics, just the same.
Have you asked why, for yourself?
Is it that people that are non white have no sense to look at character, policies, issues, struggles in our country, struggles in their communities, their religious beliefs, things that will make life better for their family, their nationality and this United States?
Do we not trust their ability to pray and seek God as we have trust the white race?
I believe we have intelligent people of color in all races (red, yellow, black and white), and ethnicity and genders, and smart enough to vote for who will make life better for our country, our communities, our faith and our families.
Try to trust the God in believers of all shapes, sizes and colors , equally.
We all have the same Spirit to guide us, just as you do.
When you vote, everything matters to you: your faith, your family, your country, community, your nationality, your gender, your children, your adults and your elderly. Seek Godâs wisdom for setting your priorities in order.
Now a warning to you.
If you have not spoken or posted that same warning for the last 45 times, donât start with your own color or own gender.
Examine yourself first.
I found this interesting during my study time. I hope it inspires Godâs people.
Godâs Divine Immigration Policy Outlined for Israel:
Psalm 146:9
"The Lord protects foreigners. The Lord gives relief to orphans and widows"
Leviticus 19:33-34
"Do not mistreat foreigners who are living in your land. Treat them as you would an Israelite, and love them as you love yourselves. Remember that you were once foreigners in the land of Egypt".
Deuteronomy 10:18-19
"He makes sure that orphans and widows are treated fairly; he loves the foreigners who live with our people, and gives them food and clothes. So then, show love for those foreigners, because you were once foreigners in Egypt"
Zechariah 7:9
"Long ago I gave these commands to my people: 'You must see that justice is done, and must show kindness and mercy to one another. Do not oppress widows, orphans, foreigners who live among you, or anyone else in need'"
Numbers 15:16
"I am the Lord, and I consider all people the same, whether they are Israelites or foreigners living among you".
Matthew 25:35
"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me"
Exodus 23:9 - 9 âDo not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners in Egypt.
Deut 24:14 14
Do not take advantage of a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether that worker is a fellow Israelite or a foreigner residing in one of your towns.
Proverbs 22:16 Whoever oppresses the poor to increase his own wealth, or gives to the rich, will only come to poverty.
We are becoming more aware of the brevity of this earthly life as we attend a growing number of Home-going and Funeral services each week. It seems like the people we love are here today and gone tomorrow.
In addition, time feels like it is speeding up and days, months and years are zooming pass us.
We have to make it a point to slow ourselves down and value the gifts God brings our way. Savor moments. Focus on relationships. Spend quality time together. Give flowers while you can. Hug someone in need. Encourage the discouraged. Say, âI LOVE YOUâ and mean it.
But, donât forget. This life is short, but eternity is forever.
Take time to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Repent of your sins. Ask him to come in your life. Receive his Spirit to join your spirit. Become a disciple and follow his teachings and his example.
