Good Evening:

This is Mrs. Bradley calling with important information for the week.

A notification regarding a negative cafeteria balance was sent through the LINQ School Nutrition system in error. Please disregard the message. No action is required in response to that notification. We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused.

Please be reminded to send in absence notes within three days of your student's absence to your student's HR teacher. If you email notes, please send them to [email protected]

On Wednesday, 9/2, we have a home football game against Bessemer City Middle School at 4:15 pm. The cost is $7. We are also inviting all staff, students, and supporters to wear COUGAR BLUE to support our phenomenal team!

We now have a morning bus driver for Route 209/436! Please have your student at their stop by 7:15am. Students who ride Bus 170 will still need transportation to school in the morning, But, we anticipate a driver very soon. All bus students will continue to have bus transportation home in the afternoon.

A few important upcoming dates:

Monday, 9/7, SCHOOL CLOSED in observance of Labor Day.
Thursday, 9/17, Interims (Progress Reports) will be available to parents.
Thursday, 9/17, Open House, 5:30-7:00pm.
We're inviting families to come out to see student work, get updates from teachers, and spend some quality time at YCMS.

Congratulations to our YCMS Football Team!!!👏📣👏📣They are 2-0 after defeating Cramerton MS and Holbrook MS in our first two games. We have another home game on Wednesday, 9/2, at 4:15. Come out, wear your BLUE, and support our team.💙🐾🏈 Ticket prices are $7.

This is Mrs Bradley calling with important information for the week:

Student Enrollment packets have gone home. Please complete with updated information especially emergency contacts and return them as soon as possible to your student's Homeroom teacher. In addition, please sign and return all Title I documents.

Cheer Tryouts will continue on Monday AND Tuesday of this week after school.

On Wednesday, we will have a home football game against Cramerton Middle School at 4:15pm. The ticket prices are now $7 and can be purchased on our athletic Instagram or athletic website.

Please continue to encourage your student to make good choices and to follow all school rules and procedures including clear backpacks, clear water bottles, and the cell phone policy.

Good evening York Chester Middle School families. This is Mrs. Hamblin, the Assistant Principal, with bus updates for Friday, August 14, 2026.

Students riding bus route 170 will be picked up as a 2nd load in the morning, and should be outside, ready for the bus by 8:20 am. We are grateful for the assistance provided by Mr. Tucker after he completes his regular route at another school. Mr. Tucker will be driving bus number 97 tomorrow morning.

Students riding bus route 436 will be picked up as a 2nd load in the morning, and should be outside, ready for the bus by 7:30 am. We are grateful for the assistance provided by Mr. Beveridge as a substitute driver this week. Mr. Beveridge will be driving bus number 209 in the morning.

Students riding bus route 548 will be picked up as usual tomorrow, and should be outside, ready for the bus by 7:00 am. We are so appreciative of Ms. Marie's commitment to the students at York Chester Middle School. Ms. Marie will be driving her regular bus number 548 tomorrow.

Bus 548 will run a regular route tomorrow afternoon, so expect your student to arrive home at their normal time. Bus 436 and Bus 170 do not have an afternoon driver at this time. We will provide bus transportation to students on those buses, but expect your student to arrive home anywhere from 5-6 pm. If you are able to arrange for your child to be picked up from school tomorrow, I would recommend that.

Again, students riding bus 170 should be outside, ready for bus 97 by 8:20 am. Students riding bus 436 should be outside, ready for bus 209 by 7:30 am. Students riding bus 548 should be outside, ready for bus 548 by 7:00 am. Bus 548 will drop students off at their usual time tomorrow afternoon. Bus 170 and bus 436 will be 2nd, and possibly 3rd, load tomorrow afternoon, arriving home around 5-6 pm. If possible, parents are encouraged to arrange for transportation home tomorrow.
