Blessing Box
The 4th and 5th grade classes are participating in a local Charlotte kindness project, the Blessing Box Campaign. The organization About Face Charlotte is hoping to inspire kindness and service with the launch of The Blessing Box campaign. The project is designed to address social challenges in our community by providing a vehicle to teach and develop habits of kindness and compassion because we all have the ability to make a difference.
Each 5th grade class is taking a box and launching the program with Valentine's Day. Instead of the traditional candy and paper valentines that the season shows us, they are focusing on truly spreading love and kindness to those around us in a more meaningful way. Ms. Y is bringing it to each 4th grade class during health where the focus is on empathy, compassion, respect, and gratitude. The curriculum fits in perfectly with the goals of the Blessing Box campaign.

Please contact Lauren Brandt at [email protected] if you are able to serve in this role.
Braille Challenge Donations Needed
Several of our students are scheduled to go to the Western Region Braille Challenge on Feb. 9th. They are in need of door prizes and goodie bag items for the students. We are taking the largest group and would like to donate as many items as possible to show our support. They are in need of gift cards of any amount (Visa, Amazon, iTunes, restaurants, Walmart, Target etc.), snacks, small toys and stuffed animals, stickers, trinkets, and treasure box items. There are about 30 students participating and they are hoping to have goodie bags for each child. We hope to send a winner to the National Competition again this year!
