As a mom raising an autistic child, the journey can feel like a labyrinth of emotions—overwhelm, discouragement, and the

weight of constant judgment from a world that often doesn't understand. Coaching isn't just about navigating the practicalities; it's about nurturing your inner strength, managing thoughts and emotions, and rediscovering the joy and balance you deserve. I specialize in empowering moms like you, offering a safe space to untangle the complex web of thoughts and feelings that accompany the journey of raising an autistic child. Together, we navigate the labyrinth of overwhelm and discouragement, empowering you to handle the complexities with grace. I offer strategies to help you cope, find resilience, and guide you toward a life filled with possibilities, even amidst the challenges. Through our coaching sessions, you'll discover ways to:

1. Manage Overwhelm: Overwhelm often shadows every decision and action. Together, we'll create strategies to navigate daily challenges and manage the constant barrage of thoughts and responsibilities.

2. Navigate Judgment: Judgment from society, acquaintances, or even loved ones can be draining. I'll help you develop resilience, confidence, and coping mechanisms to face and overcome these challenges.

3. Cultivate Emotional Well-being: Your thoughts and feelings matter. Through coaching, I'll support you in nurturing your emotional well-being, helping you find balance and peace amidst the chaos.

4. Create a Life Beyond Autism: While autism is a part of your life, it doesn't define it entirely. Coaching empowers you to carve a life that embraces joy, fulfillment, and your unique aspirations. With coaching, I aim to be the beacon that guides you through the darkest moments, helping you see the light at the end of the tunnel. Together, we'll discover the path that leads to inner peace, empowerment, and the realization that life holds immeasurable beauty and joy, even amid the challenges. There are often a few seconds between feeling overwhelmed and reacting.

Those seconds matter.

Because your body is already giving you information.

A tight jaw. Raised shoulders. Shallow breathing. Racing thoughts.

Learning to recognise those signals can change what happens next.

That is one of the things I’ll be teaching in From Chaos to Choice.

A practical masterclass for the real moments autism parents actually live through.

What if trying so hard to become a better parent is actually making parenting feel even harder?

As parents of autistic children, we can put enormous pressure on ourselves.

I should be calmer.
I should have more patience.
I should be handling this better.

And slowly, those thoughts can turn into the belief that we’re simply not doing a good enough job.

In my latest episode of Living Inspired with Autism, I’m talking about something I believe we need to discuss more:

You cannot shame yourself into becoming the parent you want to be.

Self-acceptance doesn’t mean giving up or lowering your standards.

It means understanding where you are right now without using every difficult reaction, emotion or hard day as evidence that you’re failing.

Real self-leadership sounds more like:

I understand why I feel this way. I can accept where I am. And I can still choose where I go from here.

Your relationship with yourself matters.

For you.
For your relationship with your child.
And for the life you still get to create.

Your child gets to be part of your life. And so do you.

You know that moment when everything changes quickly.

Your child becomes distressed. Plans fall apart. The noise gets too much. And suddenly you can feel yourself becoming overwhelmed too.

Before you’ve really had time to think, you react.

Then comes the guilt.

In From Chaos to Choice, we’re going to work on recognising that moment earlier, before reaction mode completely takes over.

Not so you can become a perfectly calm parent.

So you can have more choice.

You know those 5 seconds before you lose it?

Before you snap. React. Or feel completely overwhelmed.

Those 5 seconds matter.

Because that’s where you can begin choosing a different response.

Not perfectly. Not every time.

But with more awareness. More intention. More trust in yourself.

That’s what we’re working on inside From Chaos to Choice.

You can’t control everything around you.

But you can learn to lead yourself through it.

There may be something you really want for your life.

But before you’ve even properly tried, your brain has already decided:
It’s too hard.

I don’t have the time.
My circumstances are different.
Maybe it’s just not for me.

And that’s the problem.

Sometimes what’s stopping us isn’t our circumstances. It’s our unwillingness to feel the discomfort that comes with creating something different.
In this week’s Weekly Edit, I’m talking about what it really means to give yourself a chance, build emotional resilience and stop confusing fear with fact.

When life becomes hard, we often disconnect.

We disconnect from our bodies because everything feels too much.

We disconnect from our children because their behaviours and emotions can feel intense.

We disconnect from our partners because there is simply no energy left.

We can even disconnect from our dreams and our joy because wanting something different begins to hurt.

But disconnection is not the final answer.

You do not need to fix everything at once. You can begin by reconnecting with yourself.

In my new, completely free masterclass, From Chaos to Choice, I will teach you how to move away from constantly reacting to what is happening around you and begin responding with more awareness, intention and choice.

Join me on 14 September at 1 PM EST.

When did you stop seeing yourself?

When you are raising an autistic child, so much of your attention naturally goes towards them.

What do they need?
How are they feeling?
What needs to happen next?
How can I help?

And slowly, without even realising it, you can become invisible in your own life.

Not because you do not matter.

But because you have become so used to looking outward that you have stopped looking at yourself.

Your needs matter too.
Your dreams still matter.
Your growth matters.
The person you are becoming matters.

This is not about taking anything away from your child.

It is about recognising that you belong in your own life too.

Maybe today is the day you start becoming visible to yourself again.

You do not have to change everything today.

Sometimes we make change feel so big that we never begin.

We think we need the perfect plan.
More time.
More energy.
More certainty.

But you do not need to know every step that comes next.

You only need to decide:

What is one small step I can take today?

As a parent raising an autistic child, life can already feel full. Trying to completely overhaul the way you think, feel or respond can become another thing on an already long list.

So make it smaller.

One thought.
One choice.
One conversation.
One moment where you respond differently.

Small steps matter because they begin changing the direction you are moving in.

You do not need to do everything.

Just take the next step.

If this is something you need right now, the link is in the comments.
