The Christian faith is under regular assault in our culture through academia, entertainment and the sinfulness of the world around us. It is of great importance that church leaders be ready to defend and "contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people" (Jude1:3).

In the third year of MTI, students will take the course, Evangelism & Apologetics. In Evangelism & Apologetics students will understand the Gospel message, understand how to contextualize that message for the hearer and understand what it means to defend the faith.

MTI prepares and strengthens local church leaders—pastors, deacons, elders and teachers—through challenging courses, personal mentoring and practical ministry experience. While designed for anyone serving the local church, MTI’s primary aim is to equip and raise up new pastors for the future of our denomination.

As the warmth of summer approaches, we at the Ministry Training Institute pray you are seeing the faithfulness and goodness of God in your life and ministry. We engage with culture every day, and church leaders must be equipped to help their congregations navigate rapidly changing cultural waters with biblical wisdom.

In MTI’s third year, students take Ethics, Faith & Culture, a course designed to help them develop a biblical and theological understanding of culture while analyzing how media, art and cultural expressions communicate differing views of truth, morality and beauty. Students learn to thoughtfully “exegete” culture and engage it through a distinctly Christian worldview.

At MTI, we equip local church leaders through challenging coursework, personal mentoring and practical ministry experience. While the program serves anyone involved in church leadership, our primary aim is to help raise up pastors for the future of our denomination.

God has given Christians the Scriptures. In doing so he has given believers the revelation he deemed best.

We must understand and respond to what God has communicated. As we respond, we must do so in obedience and faithfulness.

Biblical interpretation is how Christian’s study and learn what God has communicated so that it can be rightly applied to life.

Year three MTI students will take Biblical Interpretation. This course equips students to understand and apply Scripture faithfully by learning the essential principles of sound interpretation.

Students will not only study these tools but also practice using them through guided interpretation of selected Bible passages.
