Before there was The Pearl, there was a vision.

As we celebrate one year of The Pearl, we asked Eugene A. Woods, CEO of Advocate Health, a simple question: What excites you most about The Pearl?

His answer reflects the heart of what this community was always meant to be – a place where people come together to learn, innovate, collaborate and create new possibilities.

One year ago, we opened our doors – and our community showed up.

Over the past year, we've had the privilege of welcoming students, educators, neighbors, entrepreneurs, innovators, community partners and teammates to The Pearl. Together, we've shared experiences that sparked curiosity, inspired collaboration and created lasting connections.

Every event, every visit and every new face has helped shape what The Pearl has become: a place where people come together to learn, discover and imagine what's possible.

A milestone worth celebrating.

One year ago, the first Wake Forest University School of Medicine class in Charlotte began their journey at The Pearl CLT.

The 2025 Wake Forest University School of Medicine Annual Report is now online.

This year’s report reflects a period of meaningful growth, discovery and collaboration, highlighting how our faculty, staff, learners and partners are turning insight into action to improve health for all.

From the historic opening of our Charlotte campus at The Pearl CLT to continued growth in research funding, the launch of initiatives such as the Advocate Health National Center for Clinical Trials and the impact of our community and philanthropic partnerships, the report celebrates what we can accomplish as one school across two campuses.
