We’d also like to celebrate Sydney Stoddard our 2025 Senior! She is being recognized as the co-valedictorian and will also be giving the farewell address at graduation. Sydney spent her school years dedicated to multi-sports, but were especially thankful that she gave so much time to our softball team and was a huge contributor to the team winning their conference! SouthLake Christian Academy Varsity Eagles extended their winning streak with a decisive 6-1 playoff victory over the Hickory Grove Christian Lions on Tuesday. The win marked their third straight and improved their overall record to 10-4, continuing a strong postseason push.

Hayden Blair was dominant in the circle once again, pitching a complete game with seven innings of work, allowing just three hits and one earned run while striking out five. This outing marked her fifth consecutive appearance with five or more strikeouts, proving her consistency and command in crucial moments. Blair also contributed at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a triple, one run, and an RBI.

The Eagles came alive in the third inning, erasing a 1-0 deficit with a three-run surge. Maeliya Blair delivered a clutch double that brought in two runs, and a passed ball allowed another to score. Blair finished the day 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run scored.

Offensively, the team continued their trend of high production with 11 hits, their third game in a row with nine or more. Madeline Pressley added another strong performance to her season, going 2-for-3 with a double, a stolen base, and a run scored. Ava Sherard, Katelyn Maultsby, and both Blairs also tallied multiple hits.

SouthLake’s balanced attack of dominant pitching and clutch hitting has made them a formidable force in the postseason. With momentum on their side, the Eagles look to carry this energy into their next matchup on Thursday in the Second Round.

SouthLake Christian Academy wrapped up regular season play in explosive fashion Monday afternoon, dominating the GCAA Stallions with a season-high 19-3 win. The Eagles wasted no time getting on the board, exploding for 11 runs in the first inning and never looking back. The victory marks SouthLake’s second straight and sixth mercy-rule win of the season, improving their record to 9-4 overall.

Madeline Pressley was unstoppable at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a career-high four RBI and four runs scored. Her two-run singles in both the first and second innings helped set the tone early. Also stepping up in a big way was Maeliya Blair, who impressed both in the circle and at the plate. She struck out a career-best eight batters over three innings, allowing just two hits and one earned run, while also reaching base all four times, stealing two bases, and driving in a pair of runs.

Ava Sherard continued her hot streak as well, reaching base in all four plate appearances with a double, four runs scored, and one RBI. Lylah Denney chipped in with two hits and four RBI, including a two-run double in the first and a two-run single in the second.

SouthLake Christian showed incredible discipline at the plate, drawing 12 walks and striking out just twice. Their offense was sharp and efficient, finishing with nine hits and capitalizing on multiple scoring opportunities.

The win puts a confident stamp on the Eagles’ regular season as they now await postseason assignments. They finish on a high note, averaging 14.5 runs over their last two games and making it clear they’ll be a team to watch in the playoffs.

There’s no place like home—and SouthLake Christian proved it once again with a hard-fought 10-8 victory over Metrolina Christian Academy on Thursday. After falling to the Warriors in a narrow 3-2 loss earlier this month, the Eagles came out determined to flip the script—and did just that, extending their home win streak to three, improving to 8-4 overall, and officially finishing conference play as the No. 1 team.

SouthLake jumped out to an early lead in the second inning behind a clutch two-RBI double from Ava Sherard, along with back-to-back bases-loaded walks by Marissa Baldwin and Alexis Keeter. The momentum carried into the third as Lylah Denney, Ashton Maultsby, and Maeliya Blair each drove in runs to stretch the lead.

In the circle, Hayden Blair was once again dominant, recording 11 strikeouts across seven innings. Despite allowing a late-game rally, she stayed composed to close it out, making it four straight games with double-digit Ks.

Madeline Pressley had a standout night at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs and a stolen base, while Keeter delivered from the bottom of the lineup with three RBIs. Sherard continued her strong week, going 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs, and a run scored.

Though Metrolina mounted a serious comeback with five runs in the seventh, the Eagles held strong and showed resilience when it counted. SouthLake’s bats stayed hot, finishing with nine hits and six walks in the win.

The win capped off an incredible conference run for SouthLake, who now head into the next stretch of the season as conference champs and with serious momentum. They’ll travel to face Greater Cabarrus Stallions on Monday at 5:00 p.m.

After a tough loss on Monday, the SouthLake Christian Varsity Eagles came out ready to dominate—and they did just that with a commanding 12-4 win over Hickory Grove Christian.

Hayden Blair led the charge both in the circle and at the plate. She delivered a complete game with 12 strikeouts, allowing only four hits and two earned runs. At the plate, Blair went 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs, and a run scored, showing her ability to make an impact on both sides of the game.

The Eagles got off to a hot start, putting runs on the board early in the first inning and piling on in the third. Sydney Stoddard was a force on the bases and at the plate—going 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two stolen bases, setting a new career-high. Ava Sherard continued to shine, going 3-for-5 with a run scored and a stolen base. Sherard and Ashton Maultsby were nearly unstoppable back-to-back in the lineup, collecting three hits each as part of SouthLake’s 13-hit day.

SouthLake also flexed their speed with nine total stolen bases and capitalized on errors to keep pressure on Hickory Grove throughout the game.

With this bounce-back victory, the Eagles move to 5-3 overall and remain undefeated when tallying 11 or more hits in a game (3-0). They return to action Thursday in a key conference matchup against rival Gaston Christian at 3:30 p.m.

Let’s ride the momentum, Eagles!

It was an intense matchup as the SouthLake Christian Academy Varsity Eagles faced off against the GCAA Stallions Red, suffering their first home loss of the season. This brings the Eagles' record to 4-3 overall and 3-1 in conference play.

Hayden Blair took the mound for the Eagles, showing determination despite facing early challenges. In one-third of an inning, Blair managed to strike out one batter while allowing three runs, two of which were earned. The team demonstrated their resilience as they fought to stay competitive in the game.

On the opposing side, the Stallions Red delivered a solid performance in the circle, pitching three impressive innings. They surrendered just one hit and allowed only one walk while keeping the Eagles scoreless.

At the plate, Ava Sherard stood out for SouthLake Christian Academy, going 1-for-2 and leading the team in hits. Her skill and determination provided a glimmer of hope for the Eagles, but the anticipated rally unfortunately fell short.

As the season progresses, the Eagles will focus on building from this experience and enhancing their gameplay. By learning from the decisions made during this game and refining their strategies, they aim to elevate their performance moving forward.

Stay tuned for today’s upcoming game against Hickory Grove as the SouthLake Christian Academy Varsity Eagles continue their quest for victory and remaining #1 in the conference! 🦅💪🥎
