However, without a smart approach that allows your body the right amount of stimulus as well as recovery you will be doing your body and progress more harm than good in the long run.

Nobody likes to hear it but there is no denying the importance of properly priming your body for the strain it is getting ready to endure. It’s not like diets and nutrition where there is many different opinions. It is universally accepted that priming your body and warming up before training is necessary for optimal performence.

Before any workout you need to be going through a routine than accomplishes two goals.

1. Preparing your body to receive stress through mobility and flexibility exercises.

2. Priming your CNS to prepare your type II muscle fibers to move more efficiently leading to better performence.

Many people aren’t doing either of these and even fewer are doing both. This is leaving a lot on the table in terms of performence and it will catch up to you throughout your life in terms of injuries. Before your next workout spend some time actually stretching and moving in a way that will benefit your body and then do a few box jumps, burpees or medicine ball tosses before you begin your workout and watch the impact it has.

What you put in is what your going to get out. Everything you intake is either helping your health or hurting it. Aim to consume real foods that came from natural sources most of the time and once in a while indulge in whatever you feel like because healthy sustainability is better than any extreme restrictive diet.

Don’t just eat to eat, eat for a purpose.
