We are excited to announce that applications are now open for the Educator Innovators Initiative!

This opportunity is designed for forward-thinking educators who are ready to pilot, expand, or refine innovative practices that increase student engagement, strengthen career readiness, and cultivate skills like creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

We are especially seeking six total educators from the following CTE pathways to participate in this year’s initiative:
🌱 Grow Your Own

🏭 Manufacturing
🏨 Hospitality & Tourism
💡 Entrepreneurship & Innovation
💼 Middle School Career Exploration

Selected Educator Innovators will: Develop or scale an innovative initiative, Connect learning to real-world and industry experiences, Collaborate with like-minded educators and Share impact and best practices across networks.

Peyton Smith and Kayla Benson proudly represented the West Virginia Family Engagement Center and the L.I.F.E. (Leaders Investing in Family Engagement) program at the West Virginia Principals Leadership Conference, held December 7–9 at The Greenbrier Resort 📚✨

This statewide event brought together 75+ school administrators, superintendents, WVDE staff, and emerging leaders who are committed to strengthening public education across West Virginia.

Throughout the conference, Peyton and Kayla connected with school leaders to share resources, highlight family engagement initiatives, and build meaningful partnerships. Their presence helped expand program visibility, strengthen relationships, and support future recruitment for WVFEC and the L.I.F.E. program 🤝💡

📢 We’re calling on school teams of three (educators, administrators, counselors, etc.) from across West Virginia who are passionate about strengthening leadership and enhancing family engagement in their schools!

The Leaders Investing in Family Engagement (L.I.F.E.) program is an opportunity to grow your leadership capacity, learn effective family engagement strategies, and connect with a statewide network of supportive peers. 💬🤝 The program kicks off virtually on 10/15/2025, and sessions will continue (virtually) two times a month from October-March 4:00-6:00PM.

🎓What You’ll Gain:
✅$1,200 stipend for each fully participating team member
