Check out this beautiful new garden on campus at the N.E. Miles Early Childhood Development Center! A part of the farm-to-school initiative, its goal is to "teach children where food comes from and establish connections between farms and farmers and the people and institutions that rely on their crops."

This week our garden apprentices were busy bees! We visited Blue Pearl Farms to learn about blueberries and honeybees and stopped by James Craig's backyard bee garden. Bees are fascinating, intelligent creatures and they're vital to the success of our gardens! Send love to the next bee you see and thank them for pollinating our fruits and veggies.

The Bee Hotel Workshop was a great way to wrap up Sustainability Week 2015! These hives will help to promote native bee populations in the Charleston area, which are key pollinators to many of Charleston's native plants.
