Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated honors Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, as an historic moment in American history. On June 19, 1865, news of the Emancipation Proclamation finally reached the last enslaved individuals in Galveston, Texas, marking the true beginning of freedom for all.

We proudly recognize the efforts of our own trailblazing Soror, Opal Lee, the “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” whose unwavering advocacy helped make Juneteenth a federally recognized holiday in 2021.

Today, we celebrate emancipation, reflect on our ancestors’ strength and resilience, and recommit to the work of advancing justice, equity, and unity. Through education, action, and solidarity, we move closer to a world rooted in true freedom for all.

This past Saturday, our chapter proudly participated in Race for the Ribbon! We weren’t able to attend last year, so it meant even more to come together this year in support, awareness, and community. We truly enjoyed being a part of it and look forward to continuing to support meaningful causes like this!

Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for our Blue Affair on April 27th! 💙✨ Between the crafts, dinner, fellowship, and all the laughter shared, it truly was a beautiful time. We appreciate every person who stopped by and helped make the evening so special. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to do it again! 🎨🫶🏾
