First, I want to thank my family and friends for their support. I also thank the 2300+ voters who believed in my small budget and short term grassroots campaign. As a nearly 20 year resident of Daniel Island and Berkeley County, I am going nowhere and look forward to finding ways to serve my community in the future.

So proud to be Jason’s Mom for many reasons, but focusing today on his decision to make education his life’s work. Jason, as President of Teaching Fellows at Clemson University, will impact the communities where he teaches someday. He is a major reason I seek to represent District 2 on the Berkeley County School Board. With more than a 100 vacancies as our school year began, Berkeley County needs more young teachers who like Jason want to make a difference.

Today I cast my ballot through the Early Voting Option available to every voter from now until November 5. I was shocked by both the ease and the quickness of the process. Consider taking advantage of this option. However, either way make your voice heard and VOTE.

Replaced the signs tonight after they disappeared since Thursday night, I am not going anywhere. I guess they think I will run away when someone picks on me, but they forget part of my job is to confront bullies and teach them kindness.

So blessed to have my daughter’s support as
I strive to become your choice for
Berkeley County School Board District 2.
Top Priorities:
- Reduce number of teacher vacancies;
- eliminate overcrowding; and
- enhance school security.
As a current educator, I know how these issues impact a student’s ability to thrive.

Students need excellent teachers. Lee is right. We must decide what we must do.
In order to recruit and retain quality teachers, we must be competitive and that means salary and benefits. All options need to be explored. Let’s put our money where our mouths are.

People keep saying they can’t believe I am running for school board, especially in light of recent events. I know timing is not perfect, but I definitely have a “why” in this matter. See below. Not only for my children, but for yours too. Our children deserve the best effort we can give.
