1 year ago this was a very different scenario. Lucas had just received his bone marrow transplant, was blind in both eyes due to hemmoraging on his retinas because of low blood platelets, had beat the veno occlusion disease that only gave him a 20% survival rate from that last round of chemo, bald and down to 160 lbs and he was turning 19 while giving out the toys that were sent to him for the toys 4 tots box on his 19th birthday.
This year, Lucas aka PFC Perdue is CANCER FREE and 100% donor, and off majority of his meds, gaining weight and looking healthy and a absolute true miracle of God's healing! Prayer is powerful and His spirit of not giving up and staying positive through such a scary time in his young life makes a difference. We are so blessed that he was treated at such a great hospital like MUSC (Medical University South Carolina)! His team of doctors and nurses and staff were AMAZING!!!! I will never forget any of their faces and they all will have my gratitude for the rest of my life and be implanted in my heart always! Science and technology comes in to play as well with the way medicine is now while it saves alot of lives on the daily. thanks for those who do research and develop new ways to fight cancer!
I'm so beyond words to see my baby thriving today and such a turn around from last Dec. Being here at MUSC in Charleston is etched in my brain forever. What a crazy, scary, trying experience!
Never give up! never!!! Keep fighting and pray alot! God is the miracle healer
To God I give all the Praise and Glory!

Lucas and I will be heading back to Charleston today. He has a liver ultrasound planned. This is to make sure Graph vs Host Disease is the cause of the rise in his liver numbers. We pray that all will go well. God is still in control and we give Him all the praise for Lucas' recovery! I truly feel that there is big plan God has for Lucas and I know that πŸ™ with God's will, He will direct his path! This child has endured so much this last year and he keeps a smile on his face and a sweetness in his voice when he speaks. I've learned alot from my son πŸ’― and I'm so proud of him ❀ It's not for us to question why this has happened but to focus each day on the positive things and learn to be more resilient. Lucas is continuing to live and do things that make him happy 😊 The picture of him on that horse proves it. It also took me back when he was 2 and he absolutely LOVED cowboy stuff and riding on the ponies at the fairs and festivals. It brought tears to my eyes πŸ‘€ when his girlfriend sent me this picture. It brought back so many memories of him when he was little.
Happy Monday folks and remember God is in the driver's seat so let him drive and don't be a passenger seat driver! Let Him do the driving!

On our trips to Charleston that we make every 2 weeks, we try to make the best of it by enjoying the city and surrounding beaches. This is Folly Beach. Lucas got the results from the liver biopsy and it did show that it was graph vs Host disease on his liver however the labs have remained the same and stable enough. They decided to take him down one pill from the tacro pill and just monitor him closer by getting more lab draws. It's a fine line he's currently on but prayers for the numbers to come down.
These pics and videos are awesome to watch for me because Lucas has come so far with God's grace and mercy. I'm so grateful my son can take this walk on the beach. It's amazing to see this so I wanted to share.
Thanks for the prayers and support πŸ™β€

So today's appts are done. Pulmonary Function test showed improvement. Bone marrow biopsy, his 7th one, went smooth and got a big piece of bone. We won't know results until end of week.
We did receive lab results showing a big jump in numbers on his liver which is a huge concern. Other sign was he did have some GVD graph vs Host disease in his mouth so they figure that's whats happening with his liver. Right now, it's a wait and see thing to see if he jumps again and more treatment will be needed specifically targeted to stop the GVD. Some GVD is ok because it shows the transplant is working and keeps the Leukemia from returning.
But........it can be very serious if gets worse.
So please say a prayer πŸ™for it to stay the way it is.

Lucas was bummed out hearing this but we talked and he's better now. He's wiped out and resting upstairs and appreciates everyone's support. He was too drugged up and sleepy to do a live.

Thanks for praying and supporting Him through all this and He's still fighting everyday. He's a true testimony of God's miracles.

Lucas is back for his 2 week appointment and his liver numbers were up but over all pretty good report. Staying on his tacro dosage for now.
He's been growing his hair back from all the chemo and it feels so soft like baby hair. He's been excited to have hair but finally agreed to go get his first haircut.
Praying they don't jack it up.

Losing hair is most of the time inevitable for cancer/chemo patients. Lucas has had 5 strong rounds of chemo while in the hospital but currently is on a chemo pill until January 2022. Today, we feel like it's taking him in for his baby cut. It's special and exciting.
He's ready to look like Marine getting his high and tight.

1 day and a wakeup left quarantining.

2 days left of quarantining but Lucas had labs at the outside tent to do along with a virtual appt today. Cancer treatment doesn't stop just cause he has the Rona.
