Hi all, for those interested, below is information about the new Parking app that is available to open parking deck gates from your phone:
For all employees parking in a gated lot or deck, there is a new Parking App that can be used to open the gates (instead of swiping your UNC One Card/gate access card). This is optional, not required --- you can continue to use your One Card/gate access card, if you like. If you are interested, download the CBORD Mobile ID app for free. Once you open it, you will sign in with your onyen and password; when asked for the server name, use: “csgold.onecard.unc.edu”. Your parking assignment will then load automatically based on this information. You will simply need to swipe your finger across the screen in order to access the lot/deck. A few Surgery employees have tested this app already and the main items to remember when using are:
- Make sure your car is close enough to the parking deck to activate the weight sensor underneath the pavement
- You must keep your finger on the screen for the entire swipe/width of the screen in order for the swipe to read.
