We will be back at Dingo Dog Brewing Company this Saturday from 6-8pm! It’s a benefit night, so be sure to arrive thirsty and excited to learn more about birds of prey!

We’ve got several public programs coming up in October!

-Sat 10/4 we will be at Guilford Garden Center from 10am-1pm

-Sat 10/18 we will be at North Carolina Botanical Garden for NatureFest

-Sat 10/25 we will be back at Piedmont Feed & Garden Center for a Meet & Greet from 10am-12pm

We’re excited to be back in Greensboro!

We’re looking forward to being back at Piedmont Feed & Garden Center this Saturday! We will be teaching a workshop (pre-registration requested via Piedmont Feed) at 11am on local birds of prey, and then will be around the garden center 12-2pm for a Raptor Meet & Greet. Hope to see many of you there!

We want to publicly express our gratitude to New Hope Bird Alliance for their amazing continued sponsorship of our organization. For the second year in a row, they have given us an incredibly generous gift that will make a huge difference in our ability to operate and educate the public on birds of prey.

We’re really looking forward to presenting to them at their April meeting! If you haven’t checked out NHBA, please do- they’re doing amazing work in the Triangle and beyond.

Okay folks, here’s our 2025 public program lineup so far!

2/28 (Friday) we will be at Dingo Dog Brewing Company from 7:00pm-9:00pm
3/29 (Saturday) we will be at Piedmont Feed & Garden Center for 3 hours- we will have a one hour class/workshop on local birds of prey at 11am and then we will be out and about from 12-2pm for a Meet & Greet!
April 12th we will be returning to Guilford Garden Center! This will be a 2hr Meet & Greet from 10am-12pm at their new (second) location at 3811 Lawndale Dr. in Greensboro.
6/14 we will be back at Piedmont Feed & Garden Center for a Fathers’ Day Meet & Greet!

We would like to thank Leland Little Auction & Estate Sales for having us out this last Saturday 2/22 for their Sporting Art Fair! We brought several birds of prey that are commonly used in falconry, and a local falconer also donated their time to help present with us.

We would also like to thank the UNC Student Avian Society for having us come and present to their group on UNC’s campus earlier this month.

We will update this post as we get more public programs booked! We also do have space on our calendar for additional private programs this spring and summer.

Are you a university student in the Chapel Hill, Carrboro, or Durham area? We're currently accepting new applications from students interested in volunteering with us!

Raptor Insights offers volunteering opportunities to undergraduate students as a way to encourage them to pursue careers in environmental education, conservation, and public outreach. Many of our student volunteers go on to pursue Masters' or Doctorate degrees in Biology, Conservation, and Ecology, or now work in the conservation and natural resources fields.

We’ve got a great crowd here at Steel String Brewery’s Fools’ Faire! Come on out to Pluck Farm and see us- the event goes til 5pm!

Okay folks, here’s our fall lineup so far!

10/12: we will be at Guilford Garden Center for a couple of hours, time TBD

10/23: We will be at the North Carolina Botanical Garden for Triangle Land Conservancy’s WILD Ideas expo event- we will be there mainly to support and bring attention to our friends at New Hope Bird Alliance!

10/26: We’re back at Piedmont Feed & Garden Center from 10am-12pm!

11/9: We will be at Steel String Brewery’s Fool’s Faire at Pluck Farm! Again, time TBD, but we will have a raptor meet and greet and may do a presentation on falconry.

11/17: We will be back at the NC Botanical Garden for both a classroom event and a meet & greet in the landscape (time TBD, still finalizing those details)
