Reduce, arrange, maintain:

"In a world that glamorizes 'big breakthroughs,' the truth is that most of the healing work actually lies in the small, slow, tedious, digestible process of showing up for ourselves over and over and over again."
-Thaís Sky, MA, LMFT | Psychoanalytic Therapist

The reduce & arrange are very important, integral to organization. But the arrange is where the magic happens. That small, slow, tedious process.

My current focus: staying organized & keeping chaos to a minimum

The 4 things I'm prioritizing this summer

The toy chaos will keep wreaking havoc until you follow these rules to reclaim your space!

Organizing ideas for brains and homes that need outside the box thinking:

You don't need perfection.
You need a system you can repeat.
Hacks that make sense to you.

Reduce. Arrange. Maintain.

If you are waiting for a full free day to get organized...

you will be waiting forever!

Starting small works because it fits real life. One tiny space at a time adds up fast.

One drawer, one shelf, one small win at a time actually builds momentum.

Small progress is how clutter finally loses.

70% effort. 100% credit.

Today's bare minimum (whether it's working out or organizing) is actually today's maximum effort. And that counts!

No routine can save you if you have too much stuff.

You cannot color code your way out of clutter that is taking over your house.

Declutter first so your routines stop feeling like punishment.

Less stuff means less chaos and a whole lot more calm.

Reduce. Arrange. Maintain.

The biggest challenge you face when organizing?

Decision fatigue.

Clutter isn’t just stuff. It’s a long list of postponed decisions:

Do I need this?
Where should it go?
What if I need it later?

Over time, that mental weight builds up, making it harder to start, let alone follow through.

The key is to start small and simplify choices.

One item, one space, one decision at a time.

Kids home this week? Get them organizing with you!

🙋‍♂️The “Trash or Treasure” Game: Grab a box and set a timer for 5 minutes. Quickly decide if each item is a “treasure” (keep) or “trash” (donate/recycle). The goal? Beat your last number while making fast decisions!

🙋‍♀️Music Marathon: Create a playlist of your favorite upbeat songs and commit to organizing until the playlist ends. It turns cleaning into a mini dance party and helps you power through!

🙋Reverse Organizing: Instead of putting things away, start by pulling everything out of a space, then race to put it back neatly before the timer runs out. It’s surprisingly satisfying to see a messy spot transform quickly.

It's the little things that make progress. Let's start 2026 off strong!
