⭐️ EDIT FOR KINDERGARTEN FAMILIES: Kindergarten students will bring their school supplies during their individual conferences, so kindergarten classrooms will not be open during Meet the Teacher Night. We still encourage kindergarten families to join us to explore the school, get comfortable in the building, and meet our wonderful specials teachers!

Welcome back, Superstars! 🌟 We’ve missed you!

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 11th because we’re throwing a celebration just for you! 📅 From 6:00 to 7:00 pm, come meet your teacher, drop off those school supplies, and get the scoop on what’s ahead. 📚

But wait, there’s more! 🎉 The South Side PTA is hosting an all-school playdate from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, and Kona Ice will be there to cool you down. 🍧 The best part? A portion of every Kona Ice purchase goes straight to supporting our amazing PTA.

So here’s the perfect evening: meet your teacher, unload those supplies, then head outside for frozen treats and playground fun with friends. It’s the ideal way to kick off the school year together!

Our Kindergarten Play Date & Screening is officially underway, and we are having so much fun meeting our newest South Side Superstars and their families! 💙💛

There are lots of smiles, new friendships, fun activities, and plenty of Superstar spirit as families get ready for an exciting year ahead. From picking up kindergarten information and to grabbing some South Side swag, today is all about helping our newest students feel right at home.

A huge thank you to our incredible PTA, staff and volunteers for making today so special. We can’t wait to welcome this amazing class through our doors in just a few weeks!

🎉 Calling all incoming South Side kindergarten families! 🎉

We can’t wait to welcome our newest Superstars! 🌟 Join us for our Kindergarten Playdate & Screener on Tuesday, July 28, from 5:00–7:00 p.m.

Come meet our kindergarten teachers, connect with other families, enjoy a popsicle, sign up for the PTA, pick up a goodie bag, and let your future kindergartener explore the playground! 🍦🛝

During the event, each child will spend a few minutes one-on-one with a kindergarten teacher for a fun getting-to-know-you activity. They’ll chat about colors, shapes, numbers, and letters—but don’t worry, this isn’t a test! It’s simply an opportunity for our teachers to get to know each child and help create balanced kindergarten classrooms for the upcoming school year.

📍 South Side Playground (check in at the basketball court tables)
🌧️ Rain plan: Meet at the front doors and we’ll head to the gym.

Can’t make it? Just let the office know, and we’ll arrange another time to meet with your child.

Mrs. Lindsay Yeakel and her kindergarten students shared the sweetest goodbye hugs as they wrapped up an unforgettable year at South Side Elementary. From first-day jitters to last-day smiles, these Superstars have grown so much — and now they’re off to first grade!
