The April 14 CASD School Board meeting was lengthy because it contained three comprehensive presentations.
Andrea Mills provided a one year summary of the Chambersburg Engagement Center (CEC). This center helps families and students with registrations, medical services to start school and appropriate placement for English learners. This center is located downtown.
Deborah Luffy gave an update on the high school Academy plan. The new model is designed to further engage students and parents in targeting interests and tailoring education to the student.
Bobbie Stine gave a status report on District Food Services. The update included information regarding the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) that was started this year in the Middle Schools. It has expanded food service among these students, led to a new financial deficit but we were reassured that current reserves are adequate for years to come.
Lots of information. If interested in more detail, check it out on the CASD you tube channel or review the presentations at CASD online.org (school board, board docs). I’m available at [email protected]
