The stage lights dim on another unforgettable DUSTI 2026.

Saturday’s final showcase celebrated weeks of hard work, bold choices, and incredible growth. Every moment reflected the dedication these students brought to the studio theatre each day.

Congratulations to every student — we can’t wait to see where your next act takes you.

Some weeks end. This one took a bow. 🎭

Thursday brought another full day of classes before our DUSTI students headed to the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival to experience Romeo & Juliet, watching the very techniques they’d been studying all week come to life on stage.

On Friday, David Pica coached students through their final Shakespeare performances, Arianna Daniels guided them in creating fight choreography inspired by Romeo & Juliet, Kim Carson polished musical theatre showcase pieces, and Madeleine Garcia prepared contemporary monologues for final presentations. To close out the day, recent DeSales graduate and PSF actor Maya Jean led an energetic dance call that had everyone on their feet.

Week 2 is in full swing at DUSTI! 🎭

Over the past two days, our students have continued sharpening their craft through a variety of classes, including Shakespeare with David Pica, Movement with DeSales alum Arianna Daniels, Musical Theatre with Kim Carson, and Acting Studio with Madeleine Garcia.

To wrap up the day on Monday, students stepped in front of the camera for Acting for the Camera with Anne Lewis and Jordyn Harris, exploring the unique skills needed to bring performances from the stage to the screen.

On Tuesday, our students got the chance to see Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival’s Extreme Shakespeare production Coriolanus, seeing the techniques they’ve been studying come to life in a professional production.

Week 2 is keeping our students challenged, inspired, and excited!

🎭 They did it!

If you saw our story and last post’s cliffhanger, here’s what you’ve been waiting for... our DUSTI students took on Extreme Shakespeare. Talk about rising to the challenge!

⚔️ Later that day, they took on the Fight Choreography workshop with DSU alum Izzy Marin, where they learned the art of telling stories safely through stage combat. (Don’t worry. It only looks dangerous! 😉)

From fast-paced Shakespeare to action-packed stage combat, every day at DUSTI is an adventure.

🎭 What a way to wrap up last week!

Our DUSTI students packed Friday and Saturday with unforgettable theatre experiences, creative growth, and plenty of fun.

Friday featured a morning movement warm-up, Shakespeare monologue coaching with David Pica, and a screening of the National Theatre’s Twelfth Night in our TV/Film Screening Room. 🎬

Saturday was full of adventure: from seeing Sheila the Magical at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival and sharing lunch with the Young Company to showing off their karaoke skills in O’Connor Commons. The day ended with one unforgettable moment: our residential students’ reactions to receiving their Extreme Shakespeare assignments! 😱📜

We can’t wait to see these talented young artists continue to grow this week! 💙

Creating. Collaborating. Performing. 🎭

Over the past two days, DUSTI students explored a plethora of new skills and techniques. They stepped into the world of Costume Design with Amy Best, experimented with Viewpoints in Movement with Arrianna Daniels, shared expressive silent scenes, and gained valuable audition insights from DeSales alumnus Ryan Plunkett.

Every class brings a new way to grow as a performer and we’re loving every moment of the journey.
