📲 NEW CELL PHONE POLICY: WHAT FAMILIES NEED TO KNOW

In alignment with Michigan’s updated 2026 state law, Center Line Prep is implementing a No Phone Zone policy for the 2026–2027 school year to keep our focus on learning!

Here is the quick breakdown by grade level:

K–5 STUDENTS
🎒The Rule: Phones powered off and kept in backpacks/cubbies all day. Smartwatches & earbuds must stay put, too.

🙅🏾 K-5 Consequences:
1st time: Teacher keeps phone until dismissal.
2nd time: Parent must pick up phone from the main office.
3rd time: Parent pickup + conference + 5-day check-in plan.

6–12 STUDENTS
🔒The Routine: Drop phones into locked "Phone Home" stations in A-Block every morning; retrieve them at 3:05 PM.

🙅🏾6- 12 Violations:
1st Offense: Parent pickup + detention.
2nd Offense: Parent pickup + 1-day suspension.
3rd Offense: Parent pickup + 2-day suspension + behavior contract.

The Perk: Zero infractions during a tracking period earns Phone Access During Lunch for a day!

HOW TO REACH YOUR STUDENT DURING THE DAY ☎️
Need to send an urgent message? Call the main office, and our team will get it to your student. If a student needs to reach home, they can ask a staff member to use a school phone.

🎒 Important Dates & Times

🍎 New Family Orientation: August 13th (Evening Session)
⏰ Time: August 13th @ 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
📌 Note: This mandatory orientation is only for NEW Center Line Prep families! If you came to the previous morning orientation the day prior, you do not need to attend this one.

📢 The Grand Reopening: August 27th
🐻 Freshmen (9th): 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
📚 K–11th Grade: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
🎓 Seniors (12th): 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
📌 Note: You will be getting your locker assignments and class schedules. If you have school supplies, you may drop it off to your teacher.

Welcome to the CLPA family! We invite you to attend one of our New Family Meetings to help make your transition to Center Line Preparatory Academy as smooth as possible.

During the meeting, you will:
Meet Principal Gore and the CLPA Administrative Team
Learn about the CLPA Way and what to expect this school year
Get your questions answered
Complete any remaining enrollment and registration paperwork before Orientation

PARKING UPDATE FOR THIS WEEK 🚗💨

Please be advised that our parking lot is currently undergoing repairs.

Until the end of the week, all personnel, visitors, and guests will need to park on Ritter Street (the side of the street with the Salvation Army, facing directly toward Cattleman's).

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve our campus facilities! We will update everyone as soon as the lot reopens. Please use the new NHA app to keep up with any and all developments within Center Line Prep.
