π² NEW CELL PHONE POLICY: WHAT FAMILIES NEED TO KNOW
In alignment with Michiganβs updated 2026 state law, Center Line Prep is implementing a No Phone Zone policy for the 2026β2027 school year to keep our focus on learning!
Here is the quick breakdown by grade level:
Kβ5 STUDENTS
πThe Rule: Phones powered off and kept in backpacks/cubbies all day. Smartwatches & earbuds must stay put, too.

πΎ K-5 Consequences:
1st time: Teacher keeps phone until dismissal.
2nd time: Parent must pick up phone from the main office.
3rd time: Parent pickup + conference + 5-day check-in plan.
6β12 STUDENTS
πThe Routine: Drop phones into locked "Phone Home" stations in A-Block every morning; retrieve them at 3:05 PM.

πΎ6- 12 Violations:
1st Offense: Parent pickup + detention.
2nd Offense: Parent pickup + 1-day suspension.
3rd Offense: Parent pickup + 2-day suspension + behavior contract.
The Perk: Zero infractions during a tracking period earns Phone Access During Lunch for a day!
HOW TO REACH YOUR STUDENT DURING THE DAY βοΈ
Need to send an urgent message? Call the main office, and our team will get it to your student. If a student needs to reach home, they can ask a staff member to use a school phone.
