Cari first joined our Hospitality Leadership Experience class as a guest speaker to discuss entrepreneurship, leadership, and the journey of building a business centered around intentional hospitality. She shared how she’s doing work she truly believes she was made to do — serving and creating meaningful experiences for others through her faith and love of people.

After connecting with our students, we knew we had to invite her onto the 🎙️🍍

Hospitality Leadership Experience interns Abbie and Alyssa sit down with Cari to dive deeper into intentional hospitality, entrepreneurship, and leading with purpose and authenticity.

And… we actually recorded this episode TWICE 😅🎙️

In this episode, Hospitality Leadership Experience intern Savannah sits down with Matt Marshall, Hotel Manager at the Ga***rd Rockies Resort & Convention Center, to explore what it takes to lead one of Colorado’s largest hospitality destinations.

Savannah earned the only paid high school internship position offered to the CCIC Hospitality program each year through our longtime partnership with Ga***rd Rockies, and she reflects on how the internship shaped her growth, confidence, and perspective on the hospitality industry.

Mr. Marshall shares insight into leadership in hospitality and what it takes to manage a large resort and convention property. The conversation highlights how hospitality leadership is about much more than operations — it is about people, guest experience, problem solving, humility, and building a strong team culture.

He also shares how hospitality can feel like “fun chaos,” why adaptability matters, and how preparation helped him overcome his fear of public speaking as a hotel manager.
