Celina Friends of the Gardens Celina Friends of the Gardens is a 501(c)3 that supports the learning gardens of the Celina (Texas) Independent School District.

Located behind the Elementary School in Celina, Texas, the Celina Garden of Oz is in the process of being established by the Celina Garden Club.

We are very proud of our new gardeners as they persevered in our Texas heat 🥵and planted their seeds. We will keep the pots watered and hopefully by the time we meet again, we’ll have sprouts! 🌱
We’re looking forward to a great year with our returning and new students ! We still have spots open if anyone else wants to join. Lykins students can pick up a sign-up form in the office.

The end of the year is always bittersweet! 😢
It was our last Garden of Oz meeting for the ‘25-‘26 school year this afternoon.
We ended with a party(a big thanks to Ms. Jennifer for picking up the goodies!), a couple of games and a final garden clean up! We were also surprised by a visit from one of the member’s pet dove, Coconut!
We sure will miss our 4th & 5th graders next year. We hope everyone has a wonderful summer ( maybe some time in the garden)! 😊

What better place to celebrate Earth Day than the Garden of Oz! Ms. Beth presented a lesson on taking care of our earth then the students tied hangers on their dough ornaments and decorated small pots. The big event was taking plants out of their large garden tubs for transplanting at home. It was fun to decide which plants were weeds and which were from the flower seeds and potatoes they planted a few weeks ago. Lots of fun and lots of smiles!
