We sure love our Mamas in 1st grade and if your firstie hasn’t shared their gifts with you yet, here’s a sneak peek at some of their sweet responses 🥰 Happy Early Mother’s Day! 🌼

Rye grass and alfalfa seeds were planted today! Ask your first grader the order they chose to plant-soil, seeds or seeds, soil or maybe something different? 🌱

Police Pal Josh returned to visit us for the first time this school year (after sending his coworker this fall due to a needed surgery). He focused on safety & being respectful as we prepare to be outside often this summer!
Ask your firstie if they can remember what Police Pal Josh told us about vandalism (spray painting, broken windows of homes and abandoned buildings & purposely drawing on school desks & chairs), trespassing (others’ yards-even our neighbors, newly constructed homes & other buildings under construction & trains) as well as respecting others’ property (plants, lawns, toys, littering, etc.)

We had some special visitors from the High School FFA this morning! They asked us what we knew about farming, had us guess what was in 4 bags (see if your firstie remembers) by only using our sense of touch, listed fruits and vegetables & students shared whether they were fruits or vegetables (found out all are fruits when they start as seeds!), discussed the changing colors of apples and pumpkins from plant to full grown fruit, different things the FFA does in various classes and how we can become involved in FFA when we get older!

We learned that Prairie FFA is having a plant & flower sale at the beginning of May & the students got to help design some of the plants and flowers being sold!
