Xavier High School FAITHFUL. SERVING. PASSIONATE. XCEPTIONAL. We are Xavier! Xavier High School is part of the tradition of the Roman Catholic Church and the Archdiocese of Dubuque.

We serve the educational needs of the Cedar Rapids Metro Area and we are supported by twelve local parishes. The Mission of Xavier High School is to “educate the total person in a Catholic environment.” To that end, our administration, faculty and staff are deeply committed to helping our young people grow in an atmosphere that stresses the presence of God so they may develop spiritually, intellectually, physically, emotionally and socially. With a school of just over 700 students, we are able to do this in a personal way. We know our students and our students’ families. The partnership between home and school is one of the great strengths of Xavier High School. Xavier offers parents a school where students are encouraged and guided to explore, deepen and share their faith. Through prayer, liturgy, reconciliation, retreats, faith groups, service work and theology classes, students are provided with many opportunities to do just that. Students are encouraged to become actively involved in the planning of many of these opportunities through our campus ministry program. Xavier offers a challenging curriculum designed to prepare students for life after high school. Ninety-six percent of our students go on to post-secondary education. Our curriculum provides the preparation those students, as well as those who will enter the work force or serve in a branch of the military, will need to succeed. Our A.P. and advanced college credit programs challenge our students at high levels. Our resource program provides the support that some who struggle academically need in order to succeed. We think it’s a great combination. The Xavier activities programs give students a chance to showcase their special gifts outside the classroom. Our music, speech, dance, visual arts and athletics programs have enjoyed outstanding success in our first ten years. We offer just about everything schools twice our size offer. Because of our enrollment, a higher percentage of our students are able to participate in our activities programs than in most 4A schools. Our size also encourages students to be involved in more than one area of our activities programs. Football players are in show choir, volleyball players are in the band, etc. This dynamic helps promote a wonderful sense of community in our school.

BRAVE FOR BENNY: SHIRT INFORMATION! GO GOLD SEPT. 25!
Brave for Benny Shirts are in and are available for pick-up. Please pay attention to the following information. If you placed a "Brave for Benny" apparel order through Cause Team, your shirt orders will be available for pick-up at Xavier High School (6300 42nd St. NE, Cedar Rapids) at the following times:

Thursday, Sept. 24th (1:30PM - 4:00 PM)*
Friday, Sept. 25th (1:30PM - 4:00 PM)*
*Enter through XHS main entrance (south/42nd. St.-facing doors). Ring bell for doors to unlock.

Orders will also be available for pick-up at the Gear Garage/Saints Shop prior to Friday night’s football game. The shop is located just inside the ticket gate at Saints Field and will be open from 6:00-8:00PM.

Due to the amount of traffic at the Gear Garage/Saints Shop, we strongly encourage you to make plans to pick up your shirt(s) prior to this time if at all possible.

Still need a B4B Tee: There will be a VERY LIMITED QUANTITY of B4B Tees available at the Gear Garage during tomorrow's home football game. Tees will be $22 each, with 25% of proceeds going to Benny and the Jongquist Family. Due to limited quantity, we encourage everyone to wear their own gold shirt in case they are not able to grab their own B4B Tee.

One of our favorite Homecoming traditions! Last Friday, our Marching Saints (Xavier High School Bands), along with representatives from XHS Varsity Football, Xavier High School Cheerleading, and Xavier Dance Team, made stops at each of our Xavier Catholic Schools to get our future Saints fired up and ready for Friday night’s Homecoming game!

Homecoming here at Xavier also means the induction of our latest class to the LaSalle-Regis-Xavier Alumni Hall of Fame. Last night we welcomed these six truly ‘xceptional individuals to the Hall of Fame: Jim & Stephanie Potts, Ryan Deignan (X06), Tim Stephenson (R69), Zach Schreiber (X00), and Corbin Woods (X13)!
