Mrs. Landry’s Instructional Practices and Education Practicum students explored problem-solving, teamwork, and critical thinking in a hands-on puzzle activity. Students connected the activity to real-world learning by imagining the puzzle as curriculum - where each piece represented a TEK standard. They discussed how missing or broken pieces could impact student understanding, future success, and importance of having all standards complete and well-organized.

Our CHHS Education & Training Human Growth & Development students are getting a real-life glimpse into caregiving by walking the halls with Reality Works RealCare Babies. These baby simulators require around-the-clock care, giving students hands-on experience with responsibility, time management, and the realities of infant care. Hilltop Academy scholars explored the future of industry!

Students recently participated in an incredible field experience in partnership with Dallas College Cedar Valley Campus through the Freight, Mobility, and Logistics Sector’s Industry Insights Initiative (i3). This hands-on learning opportunity took them to Pratt Industries, where they gained real-world exposure to careers in logistics, manufacturing, and distribution.

A special thank you to Dr. Joe Seabrooks for facilitating this experience and to Counselor Ham for supporting the coordination to ensure our students could engage in this impactful opportunity.

Experiences like this continue to connect classroom learning to high-demand careers—empowering our students to envision their future pathways!
