Last week we finished our presentations with a wide variety of topics including jazz players, arrangers, instrument makers, trumpet books, and mouthpiece design. Students are empowered to choose whatever trumpet topic interests them to talk about.

We were honored to have UNI alum Dr. Susan Rider with us today in Trumpet Seminar for a trumpet masterclass. Dr. Rider is a trumpet player in the President's Own Marine Band in Washington D.C. and will be a guest soloist tonight with the Wind Ensemble for our Scholarship Benefit Concert.

Today in Trumpet Seminar we started our student presentations and learned a lot more about composer Otto Ketting, the cornet, jazz trumpeter Terell Stafford, the shofar, and Diana Lopez. Students are empowered to choose any trumpet topic they are interested in speaking about.

Send us your trumpet students!

Registration is still open for the UNI Jazz Combo Camp.
We could use a few more drummers and a few more trumpet players. Please encourage the young jazz musicians in your life to check it out!
