Shoutout to our amazing panelists from today’s Career Panel at Equine Affaire, Inc. (Official)! Meghan Crout with Purina, Chelsie O’Reilly with Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, Jessica Starcevich with Spalding Labs, and Taylor Adams with DelVal Equine. They each shared stories of their own career journeys, thoughts on career opportunities (there’s lots!), and important personal and professional skills for success. Top of the list was being ‘all in all the time’ with motivation, dedication and building excellence in all you do! We have one more panel coming up tomorrow - come see us in the Equine Fundamentals Forum in Mallory South.

Shoutout to Michelle Mulcahy with Triple Crown Feed, Michelle Nyberg with SUNY Morrisville, Melanie Walton with Zero Proof Horse Treats, and Christine Schulte-kappert with ASPCA for their amazing contributions to today’s Equine Career Panel at Equine Affaire, Inc. (Official). The stories of each of their career journeys emphasized the importance of being open to opportunities, embracing life long learning, and the power of passion. Insights into important skills and knowledge for success highlighted strong communication, effective listening, being a dedicated and enthusiastic worker, being open to - and reflective of - criticism, and being able to ‘sell/market the value of’ yourself, your product, and your company/organization. When asked about career opportunities, everyone agreed that there are plenty of jobs available for quality candidates willing to relocate, and that the rise in use of AI is an entirely new area to consider for application and use in the equine industry. A parent stopped me a few hours after the panel and told me the discussion completely changed her thinking and she was no longer worried that her daughter wanted to pursue a career in equine.

Tomorrow is the day we kick off for another great Equine Affaire, Inc. (Official) schedule of events! Equine career panel at Noon with the Exploration Trek starting right after and running until 5pm. Both start in the Equine Fundamentals Forum
