Today was the final meeting day for Becoming University Spring Semester. We finished by making vision boards and concluding lesson 10 “See It, Say it, Do It.”

Although today was their field day, the girls came right in and went to work collecting words, images, and phrases that spoke to their dreams and empowered them towards their future. We always love seeing what kind of beautiful visions they come up with, and they definitely understood the assignment.

Today in BeComing University we talked about “Having a vision”. The lesson title was “See It, Say It, Do It” We discussed Pupose, long term and short goals and Vision Boards. We also had an open discussion about their dream career paths and future aspirations. Having a vision is when one has a clear sense of purpose, so today we wanted the ladies to truly invision themselves fulfilling their purpose.


Next week is the 2nd part of our lesson “See it, Say it, Do it!!! The ladies will start creating their vision boards. 💚

Today in BeComing University we talked about “how do you see yourself”. The lesson title was “The Girl In the mirror” we talked about positive affirmations and also the importance of self love. The young ladies participated in an activity that allowed them to make positive affirmation statements about one another and they also participated in a mirror activity that allowed the girls to look at themselves (face themselves) then they wrote a positive affirmation about themselves on the mirror. 🦋

Some examples of positive affirmations.

I am confident, happy, healthy, and powerful.
I deserve everything I want in life.
I love myself unconditionally.
I am competent, smart, and able.
I am growing and changing for the better.
I love the person I am becoming.
Every day I am becoming a better version of myself.

Today in BeComing University we talked with our blossoming leaders about the dreams and goals. The lesson title was “Dream Girls” and we talked specifically about how important it is to have SMART goals. SMART is a acronym that stands for:

Specific
Measurable
Attainable
Realistic and
Time-Based.

When we set goals it is important for us to keep these characteristics in mind. They help to focus on on goals that we can meet and actionable steps towards our future dreams.

Today in Becoming University Mentoring Program we continued with discussing and teaching on how the ladies view themselves as of who they are now and who do they want to become, their future self. Self awareness, having goals and dreams are just a few of the things we touched on today.

Today was our second meeting of BeComing University and what a day it was!

We split the class into smaller groups and began working through our curriculum. Today’s lesson was “Who Are You and Who Do You Want to Be?” This lesson is designed to get the girls thinking about the self image, the traits of positive and negative self worth, and what are the things that make them each unique and wonderful.

Exciting new beginnings for the new classes.
