Summer is coming… and we’re ready for it ☀️

Our Boys & Girls Club Summer Camp is officially open for registration, and this is going to be one of our best summers yet.

Every day is built around keeping kids active, engaged, and having fun. We’re outside daily, making the most of the weather with games, sports, and time to just be kids. Twice a week, we’ll be heading to the pool to cool off and enjoy some well-earned swim time. And every group gets a field trip each week, so there’s always something new to look forward to.

But it’s more than just the big stuff. What really makes our camp special is the environment. It’s a safe place where kids build friendships, try new things, and grow their confidence. Our staff show up every day ready to bring energy, structure, and fun, so parents know their kids are in good hands.

Spots fill up fast every year, and once we’re full, we’re full.

If you’re looking for a place where your child can stay active, make friends, and actually look forward to coming every day… this is it.

Here’s what our summer is going to look like:
• Outside time every single day
• Pool days twice a week to beat the heat
• Weekly field trips for every group
• Games, activities, and plenty of chances to just have fun

We keep the days structured so kids stay engaged, but still give them the space to enjoy their summer the way they should. It’s a mix of fun, routine, and new experiences that keeps them coming back excited.

And just as important—this is a place where kids feel comfortable being themselves, building friendships, and trying new things with staff who actually care.

Good Morning! Yesterday was a great day at vacation camp, and the kids made the most of every minute. Our K–2 group headed over to Wonderfeet at noon, and they were all smiles. They explored, played, asked a million questions, and soaked up every part of the experience. It was one of those moments where you just watch them learn without even realizing they’re learning.

Meanwhile, our 3rd and 4th graders bundled up and took to the streets of Rutland to deliver holiday cards to local businesses and organizations. They were proud, polite, and excited to spread a little kindness around the community. Every stop they made felt like they were giving back in a small but meaningful way.

Days like this show how much our kids grow when they’re out in the community, connecting, exploring, and doing something positive.

Photo dump from today’s adventure at Bomoseen State Park — our winter vacation camp took a little break from the usual routine and headed out for s’mores by the fire.

Yes… in December. And yes… the kids loved every second of it.
There’s something about winter air, cold hands, warm mittens, and a gooey marshmallow that just hits differently. The kids were bundled up, laughing, racing around in the snow, and proudly showing off their “masterpiece” s’mores like they just won a contest.

Even in the cold, this crew finds joy everywhere they go. That’s what makes this Club family special. We make memories out of moments most people would walk right past.

Grateful for these kids, grateful for our staff who make days like this possible, and grateful for a community that lets us keep giving kids experiences they’ll hold onto long after camp ends. ❄️🔥❤️

Some days I stop in the middle of the hallway, look around, and can’t believe how lucky we are to have the family we’ve built at the Boys & Girls Club. You can feel it the second you walk through the doors, the laughter, the support, the way the kids run toward the people they trust most. Our staff show up with patience, love, and a level of dedication that you can’t teach. They give these kids a safe place to land, a place to grow, and a place to just be kids.

This isn’t just a job for any of us. It’s community. It’s impact. It’s family.

And as we head into vacation camp right here in Rutland City, we’re opening our doors to even more moments like these. We’ll be here for families Monday and Tuesday from 7:30–5, and Wednesdays from 7:30–4 for the next two weeks — ready to give kids a place where they’re cared for, encouraged, and surrounded by people who truly believe in them.

As we head into the holiday season, we’re asking our families and community to support our Club raffle. Tickets are only $10, and each one gives you 12 chances to win a prize during our “12 Days of Winning.” But more importantly, every dollar stays right here at your child’s site.
That means the money we raise goes straight back into things the kids use and love — games, activities, special projects, holiday surprises, and little upgrades that make the Club feel even more like home. Our goal is to raise $300, and hitting that mark will make a real difference for the kids we serve every day.
If you’re able to buy a ticket, spread the word, or help your child sell a few, it truly helps. Your support is felt immediately at your site, and the kids benefit right away.

Today had all the holiday season energy we love at the Club. The kids were out sledding, laughing, and soaking up the first real stretch of winter fun — and then came inside for coloring pages, hot chocolate, and just hanging out together.

It was the perfect mix of fresh air, warm cocoa, and happy kids.
We’re really grateful for moments like these. They remind us why the Boys & Girls Club matters so much for our community.

It’s a place where kids can feel safe, be themselves, and make memories that stick.
If anyone has a sled they’re not using anymore, we’d be more than happy to give it a new home. Our kids will get every last ounce of joy out of it.

Yesterday we hosted our Family Turkey Dinner at the Boys & Girls Club, and it turned into one of those nights that really shows what community looks like. We had families, staff, and kids all together sharing food, laughing, and filling Club with good energy. And we were especially thankful that the Rutland City Police Department joined us after we invited them to stop by.

Our kids loved having them there. They got to talk, ask questions, and just see the officers as another group of supportive adults in their world. It’s those moments when our kids see the community coming together around them, that make a real impact.

As we head into the holiday season, our kids have been talking about what they’re thankful for, and last night added a few more things to that list:
• A place where they can be safe and have fun.
• Adults who show up and care.
• Time together as one big Club family.
• And a whole lot of good food.

Thank you again to the Rutland City Police Department for coming out and spending time with our kids and families. And thank you to every family who joined us you helped make yesterday feel special.

We’re grateful for this community, and we love giving our kids moments they’ll remember. 💙🦃✨
