The Mama Joe Project Alzheimer's disease is the most common type of dementia, and the most taxing illness on the American economy.

The Mama Joe Project is a movement that centers storytelling via film and media as a strategy for community outreach to support caregivers, promote healthy aging, and improve outcomes for families navigating Alzheimer's disease and related dementia. Dementia is a growing public health concern, as age is the leading risk factor, and people 60 years and older is growing around the world. Through fil

No registration is required, plan to be there 3pm-5pm for the film showing, audience Q&A which features Mama Joe’s grandson and youth Caregiver Noah Oliver, Carolyn Austin, CEO of AgeLinc, Dr. Russell McElveen a cardiothoracic surgeon, film participant and frequent supporter Dr. Erin Hascup of Smith Center for Alzheimer’s Disease Research at SIU Medicine.
