🎭 New York City Theatre Trip Interest Meeting

About the Proposed Trip

East Cary Productions is exploring a potential theatre trip to New York City with Mrs. Bridges and Burning Coal Theatre.

The trip is still in the planning stages.
Final approval has not yet been received.

Who Is Invited?

Scholars and families connected to eastcaryproductions, including:

Scholars enrolled in a theatre class during the 2026–2027 school year
Scholars participating in an East Cary production

If the Trip Is Approved

Scholars must demonstrate excellent behavior from September 2026 through April 2027.

Scholars with behavior concerns may be required to attend with a parent or guardian.

Scholars with significant behavior concerns may not be permitted to attend.

Come this Wednesday to see if the potential NYC opportunity is for you.

🚨 UPDATE 🚨

We regret to inform you that, due to Mrs. Bridges’ recent health concerns, the play has been postponed until later this school year.

There will be NO auditions tomorrow.

A TalkingPoints message has also been sent out school-wide with this update.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we navigate this change. We’ll share more information, including the new audition and performance dates, as soon as they are available. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who came to the interest meeting for this year's fall play, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane! Auditions for cast are from 3:30-5 tomorrow, Thursday September 10th in the auditorium.
No memorized monologue is required as scholars will audition using cold reads from the script. Materials will be provided at audition.
Scholars should come prepared to make strong acting choices, take direction, and read with other actors!

As a reminder, tomorrow (Tuesday 9/8) is the fall play interest meeting! Please let your scholar know to go to the auditorium when walkers are dismissed. Parents, please be at the front of the auditorium to pick up your scholar no later than 4 pm.
