The Sociology Club is excited about our public screening of "Retratos de una
Búsqueda." Mexican journalist Alicia Calderón will be joining us all the way from Barcelona where she is currently working on her second documentary.

Synopsis:
In the Mexican narco-war, thousands of mothers search for their missing sons and daughters. In Portraits of a Search, the stories of Natividad, Guadalupe and Margarita intertwine to convey the different forms of confronting the search and uncertainty: one turns to the FBI, another obtains the Nation’s president’s personal
promise, and the other tries to return to her routineM so as to save her grandson. A portrait of Mexico today.

The film also shows the conflict of the disappearances from a broader context, of national and international implications, but always touching down on particular cases that put a
face to this great human tragedy that Mexico is going through.
