Congratulations to our Campus Parent of the Year, Mrs. Karissa Peig! As our dedicated PTO president, Mrs. Peig has given countless hours of her time and energy to support our school community. From helping build and grow our PTO, recruiting and encouraging parent involvement, organizing events, securing donations for students and teachers, and even generously contributing her own funds, her impact has been truly incredible. Mrs. Peig’s leadership, kindness, and commitment to our campus do not go unnoticed. We are so thankful for everything she does to make our school a better place for our students, staff, and families. 🎉 Congratulations to Leonardo S. of Harmony Science Academy-Carrollton on being selected for the prestigious 2026 Bezos Scholars Program!

Leonardo was recognized for his leadership, service, and commitment to supporting multilingual and immigrant communities through mentorship and education. As co-founder of his campus ESL Tutoring Club, he has helped students facing language barriers build confidence and academic success.

“Through this work, I saw how many students and families needed stronger academic and emotional support systems,” Leonardo shared. “I want students to receive the support they need so they don’t feel left behind because of language barriers or struggle silently in school.”

Leonardo completed the nationally competitive application process with the support of educator Ms. Anna Barrientos and Harmony Science Academy Carrollton college and career counselor Ms. Ayse Ulgul, whose mentorship and guidance helped support him throughout the process.

As part of the Bezos Scholars Program, Leonardo and Ms. Barrientos will participate in leadership development opportunities through the Aspen Ideas Festival and launch a community impact project focused on supporting students and families.

We are incredibly proud of Leonardo for representing Harmony Science Academy-Carrollton and Harmony Public Schools on a national stage! 💙

Through our dual credit program with Dallas College, these outstanding students have earned their associate degrees while completing high school and proudly graduated from Dallas College last night. We are so proud of their hard work, dedication, and perseverance, and we look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the future!

Our GT and 8th grade honors students recently enjoyed an exciting field trip to Fritz's Adventure! Students had a great time exploring the attractions, challenging themselves on obstacle courses, and making lasting memories with their classmates. The trip was filled with teamwork, laughter, and adventure, providing students with a fun and rewarding experience outside the classroom.
