Please join us in celebrating Ms. Mavis Taylor as our August Teacher of the Month!

Since joining Castle Hills Montessori in July, Ms. Taylor has been an incredible addition to our school community. She has jumped in to support every age group with enthusiasm, flexibility, and a smile, and she brings so much fun and positive energy to our aftercare program.

As the assistant teacher in our Butterflies classroom, Ms. Taylor has quickly become a favorite among her students, and Ms. Firdoz absolutely loves having her as part of the team. Her willingness to help wherever she's needed and her readiness to take on any challenge truly embody the spirit of our school.

Thank you, Ms. Taylor, for your kindness, positivity, and dedication to our children and families. We are so grateful to have you as part of the Castle Hills Montessori family!

☀️🌴 What a Summer to Remember! 🌴☀️

As we kick off a brand-new school year, we're looking back on an unforgettable summer at Castle Hills Montessori!

From making a splash during our Splash Days , dancing the day away at our Disney Dance Party , cooling off at our Foam Party, exploring a real Fire Truck , and getting up close with incredible animals during our Animal Adventures; our students made memories that will last a lifetime!

Every activity was thoughtfully planned to spark curiosity, encourage exploration, and create meaningful experiences while building friendships all summer long. There were so many smiles, laughs, and moments of discovery, and we loved sharing them with our amazing school community.

Thank you to all of our wonderful families for making this summer so special. Here's to an incredible school year filled with even more adventures, learning, and memories together!

The halls are full of smiles, our classrooms are buzzing with curiosity, and a brand-new Montessori adventure is officially underway!

We are so excited to welcome our new and returning families to another year of exploration, independence, and joyful learning. Every day brings new discoveries, meaningful friendships, and opportunities for our children to grow with confidence.

🐠🦜🦀🥭 Meet the Pets of Castle Hills Montessori! 🥭🦀🦜🐠

At Castle Hills Montessori, learning doesn't just come from books and lessons, it also comes from caring for the living things around us.

Our school is home to some very special classroom friends!

Each of our Toddler classrooms has a fish tank where children learn to be gentle, observe with curiosity, and help care for another living being.

Our Primary classrooms also enjoy classroom fish, while our Chipmunks class is home to two sweet budgie birds, and our Groundhogs class has a very cool hermit crab that children love observing.

And of course... we can't forget Mango the bearded dragon, our beloved school mascot! For the past year, our students have watched Mango grow and have made him part of their daily routine. From cheerful "Good mornings!" to heartfelt "See you tomorrow!" our children love stopping by to visit their feathered friend each day.

In Montessori, caring for animals is an important part of the Practical Life curriculum. Pets help children develop empathy, responsibility, gentleness, patience, and respect for all living things. Feeding, observing, and caring for classroom animals gives children meaningful opportunities to build confidence while fostering a deep connection with nature.

These everyday moments help nurture compassionate, responsible children who understand that even the smallest living creatures deserve kindness and care.

Introducing Our New Advanced Primary Classroom: Koi Fish!

We are so excited to introduce the Koi Fish Classroom, our new Advanced Primary environment led by the wonderful Ms. Farzana!

Designed for our older Primary students who are ready for greater challenges, the Koi Fish classroom provides an enriched Montessori experience that nurtures independence, leadership, and a deeper love of learning.

In our Advanced Primary classroom, students will:
-Engage in more in-depth academic work across reading, writing, math, and cultural studies.
-Strengthen executive functioning skills through longer work cycles and increased responsibility.
- Build confidence by serving as leaders and role models within their classroom community.
- Participate in meaningful, hands-on Montessori lessons that encourage critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving.
- Develop the skills and independence needed for a successful transition to elementart and beyond.

🌹🕊️ The Peace Rose 🕊️🌹

One of the most meaningful lessons in a Montessori classroom isn't found on a shelf—it's found in the way children learn to treat one another. 💛

The Peace Rose is a beautiful Montessori tradition that helps children peacefully resolve conflicts with kindness, respect, and empathy. When a disagreement arises, children are invited to hold the Peace Rose while taking turns sharing their feelings. Only the child holding the flower speaks, while the other listens with patience and respect. Together, they work toward finding a peaceful solution.

This simple practice teaches children valuable life skills such as:
🌹 Respectful communication
💛 Active listening
🤝 Empathy and understanding
🧠 Emotional regulation
✨ Problem-solving and conflict resolution

You can bring this Montessori lesson into your home by creating your own Peace Corner with a flower, stuffed animal, or other special object. When conflicts arise between siblings or family members, encourage each person to take turns holding the object while sharing their thoughts and feelings. By modeling calm communication and respectful listening, you're helping your child build lifelong social and emotional skills.

🌱💛 Every Milestone Matters 💛🌱

In our Infant Community, some of the biggest accomplishments begin with the smallest movements. ✨

These photos capture one of our little learners working toward an exciting milestone; crawling independently! With gentle encouragement from our Infant Lead Guides and a thoughtfully prepared environment, this child was motivated to crawl toward two colorful balls... and succeeded!

Learning to crawl is a major milestone in a child's development. It strengthens gross motor skills, coordination, balance, core strength, and confidence, while giving infants the freedom to explore their world independently. In Montessori, we believe in allowing children the time, space, and support they need to reach these milestones at their own pace.

We are so proud of this little learner and love celebrating these meaningful moments of growth. One crawl today leads to a lifetime of confident exploration tomorrow. 💚
