👀 Can you spot everything Steve changed here?

This chimney got a little TLC from top to bottom.

At the top, Steve repaired and sealed the crown and added a chimney cap. That cap helps keep rain, leaves, debris and unwanted critters from finding their way inside. 🐿️

At the bottom, you can see the fresh black waterproofing/seal around the base where the chimney meets the roof. Water LOVES finding its way into the smallest places…and keeping it out is a whole lot easier than dealing with the damage later. 💦

Sometimes chimney work isn’t about a big dramatic repair.

It’s taking care of the little things BEFORE they become big things. 🔥

And she’s ready for fall. 🍂

They may not look like much…but this is exactly why chimney inspections matter.

These are cracked flue tiles. Those cracks can allow flue gases to escape where they shouldn’t, including carbon monoxide getting into the home. 😳 There’s also a chance embers can get into those cracks and create a fire hazard. 🔥

The scary part is you’d probably never know they were there.

Steve found this during an inspection and will be installing a stainless steel liner to make the chimney safe again.

You can’t always 👀 SEE 👀 the problem from your living room. Sometimes you need someone who knows what they’re looking for.

Especially coming from someone I’ve worked with for several years and who trusts me with their own clients.

Buying a home is a big deal. And when a realtor sends me in to inspect a chimney, I know they’re trusting me with their reputation too.

I’ll always give you my honest opinion, explain what I see, and tell you what I would do if it were my own home.

❌ Myth: “I’m gonna have black soot all over my living room after a chimney cleaning.”

I hear that one a lot.

Facts 👉 keeping your house clean is part of the job.

That’s why I bring in protective blankets, special vacuums, and the right equipment before I ever start cleaning.

When I’m done, I want your house looking the same as when I walked in. The only thing I want to leave behind is a cleaner, safer chimney. 👊

Soot is the light black powder that’s left behind after a fire.

Creosote is different. It’s a sticky, tar-like buildup that forms inside your chimney over time as smoke cools. Think of it like bacon grease inside a frying pan. 🥓 One little bit isn’t a big deal. But after dozens of fires, it starts building layer after layer, caking on.

The problem is creosote burns. If enough builds up and gets hot enough, it can cause a chimney fire. 🔥

That’s one reason I recommend having your chimney inspected before burning season starts.

A clean chimney isn’t just cleaner. It’s safer. 💯
