Prairie View A&M University Cooperative Extension Program – Family & Community Health (FCH) serves Dimmit and Zavala Counties by empowering individuals, families, and communities to live healthier, happier lives.

The Carrizo Springs CISD is participating in the Seamless Summer Option (SSO). Meals will be provided to all children without charge for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, s*x (including gender identity and s*xual orientation), age or disability, and there will be no discrimination during the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided, at a first come, first serve basis, at the sites and times listed below:

Meals will be served and consumed on campus.

All sites will operate Monday thru Thursday. Meals will be provided at the following sites and times:

SITE 1: Carrizo Springs High School located at 335 FM Road 1917

Serving schedule for: June 2 thru June 11, 2026

Breakfast 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM

Lunch 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM

SITE 2: Carrizo Springs Elementary located at 605 N. 9th Street

Serving schedule for: June 2 thru June 25, 2026

Breakfast 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM

Lunch 10:55 AM to 1:00 PM

SITE 3: Big Wells Multi-Purpose Center located at 171 Commerce, in Big Wells.

Serving schedule for: June 2 thru June 11, 2026

Lunch 11:30 PM to 12:30 PM

SITE 4: Laredo Housing Authority located at 12 Cleveland, in Asherton.

Serving schedule for: June 2 thru June 11, 2026

Lunch 11:30 PM to 12:30 PM

SITE 5: Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church Carrizo Springs

Congratulations to our top team for the Walk Across Texas - Law Enforcement Edition 2026!🧡

Punch Monkey Militia from the Zavala County Sheriff’s Office set a team goal of 1,194 miles over 8 weeks-and they didn't just meet it... they crushed it by logging an incredible 3,085 miles!💨

We ended the Law Enforcement Appreciation Week by awarding them with a Texas Plaque, a hydration backpack, and a SF Supplements goodie bag!!!

We also had the opportunity to meet State Representative Don McLaughlin during this amazing event, showing our appreciation for everything Law Enforcement does for us!💙🤍

Their dedication, consistency, and teamwork truly set the standard this year. We are proud to recognize their outstanding achievement and commitment to health and wellness!

What an incredible season for the Walk Across Texas-Law Enforcement Edition 2026!🧡

This year, we were proud to bring together 169 participants across multiple counties, including both law enforcement personnel and community members.
Together, participants committed to improving their health, building teamwork, and supporting one another throughout the 8-week challenge. From first time participants to returning teams, the dedication and effort shown this year truly made an impact.🤠
