The paint on this custom SRT was never actually finished.

Mid-restoration, the body shop changed ownership, and the painter never got to color sand and polish it.

Years later, a dealership courtesy wash exposed just how much unfinished texture was still hiding in the paint.

Custom two-tone finish, complex body lines, and sheer size, this SRT turned into an incredible teaching platform for our Advanced Wet Sanding & Paint Correction Training.

Join us September 26–27 for two full days of hands-on Paint Correction & Ceramic Coating Training at Gloss University.

No lectures from a slide deck, this class runs on real-world scenarios. Machine polishing, pad and product selection, ceramic coating installation, and the decision-making behind consistent results.

Small-group, side-by-side with our instructors, plenty of hands-on time, direct feedback, and room to ask questions all weekend.

One week ago today, we wrapped our three-day Advanced Wet Sanding and Paint Correction Training and celebrated six years of Gloss University.

This custom-painted 2007 SRT gave our students real problems to work through: unfinished sanding, inconsistent texture, prior repairs, and more, all in a small-group setting where nothing gets skipped.

Knowing what not to remove matters as much as knowing what to correct.

Many Corvettes from this generation left the factory with noticeable orange peel.

The goal here wasn’t to flatten it all out, it was to lightly sand the deeper scratches while keeping the factory texture intact.

Done right, it should look like a remarkably clean OEM Corvette. Not a refinished show car.

This Z06 rolled into the shop carrying years of scratches, defects, and every sign of a car that’s actually been driven and enjoyed.

The goal wasn’t to erase every imperfection. It was to find out how far we could safely push the original paint while keeping what makes this car this car.

Six days. Sanding, scratch repair, paint correction, polishing, ceramic coating.

I documented every hour of it.

It was rewarding to watch each student push their skill set throughout the weekend and walk away with real confidence plus a few great prizes.

We’ll be sharing more photos and videos from our anniversary training in the weeks ahead, but for now, a simple thank you to the students who traveled from near and far to make this one unforgettable.

This group worked together like a true team, and it showed. This custom SRT with aftermarket paint has never looked this good.
