In honor of Financial Literacy Month, very exciting news to report out from NGPF’s 2022 State of Financial Report. So much work has gone on in the past year by many organizations, teachers, etc…but we still have a lot of work ahead of us. We must guarantee that every high schooler graduate with a stand-alone Personal Finance course. . NGPF is doing a phenomenal job supporting all the teachers but we need everyone to fight for our future.

Meet Jordan, senior at Independence High School who will be attending a community college then transferring. He's intrigued with the arts and wants to study graphic design.
Jordan is passionate to learn and help others about money skills. One financial topic that stood out the most from my class is budgeting and strategies on how to save from the 2021 Winter $eries classes.

Why the picture of seal pups and their mothers? For Mother's Day weekend, my daughter took me away to spend the weekend in nature. One of the hikes was along beautiful Point Lobos State Reserve in Carmel, CA. There were still seals with their pups enjoying this beautiful beach showing them the ropes of survival in the wild. This is no different than each of us taking responsibility in making personal finance a priority now more than ever. Let's require that we teach this in schools and make this a topic in our homes each day! PS: I love taking photos on my trips so I'll start sharing my travels and experiences.

What a fantastic event to hear live from many passionate and dedicated teachers asking personal finance questions to the experts on this CNBC event! So grateful to recognize many of the NGPF community teachers. SUPER STAR teachers are making a difference in the lives of our youth! We have momentum now more than ever for the most important class to be taught and be required in schools.

An inspiring and wise 7th grader who attended both sessions asked me "Please tell schools to teach this to us. Why aren't they teaching this". Need I say more? Isn't this just as important as reading, writing, and math?
What a successful two part sessions with in honor of Financial Literacy Month. What an amazing organizations to offer such classes for their teens. I was throughly impressed with all the students ranging from 7th grade to College. The questions they asked me as well as comments in the surveys and emails. WOW!
