This is what a good night looks like. ♟️

Family Chess Night is the whole club at its best — bean bags, big windows, golden hour, and a room full of people just... playing. No pressure, no clocks, all ages, all levels. Beginner instruction from 5–6, open play till 9.

Missed this one? The next is Friday, October 23rd. Come pull up a chair. 🕯️

Donation-based, benefiting our Youth Chess Scholarship Fund.

While the world's best are competing on the global stage in Samarkand, our little club had a big competition of its own. ♟️

To celebrate the 46th Chess Olympiad, we ran an online tournament for the whole club hosted by Chess Kid — and 23 of our kids showed up to play. Five rounds, real clocks, and a whole lot of heart. Watching our youngest players fight through their games, strategies unfolding move by move, is exactly why we do this.

Medals are coming in class next week — Gold, Silver, and Bronze — with special honors for our top elementary schoolers and top-performing girls. But honestly? Every kid who sat down and played all five rounds is a champion in our book.

The Olympiad happens once every two years on the world stage. This week, our kids got a taste of that same competitive fire right here in Carmel Valley. We could not be prouder.

Congratulations, competitors. You earned it. ♟️

Two new leagues, starting this August. ♟️

All-Girls Chess League — Tuesdays, 4:30 PM, ages 5–17. A recreational league of her own.

Middle & High School Chess League — Thursdays, 3:15 PM, grades 6–12. Casual, competitive, up to you.

Both are open to every skill level, and most kids walk in with zero experience. That's the whole point — this is where they start.
