Some use rulers to measure, we use sour patch kids! Whatever works! Turns out the distance between Denver and Dallas is two sour patch kids!

Super proud of all my students this week! They all passed their tests with flying colors. Some worked hard to learn division of decimals and others spent months studying for their drivers permit test. Proud to say we have some proficient math students and two more drivers on the road! For some this might not seem like a big deal but for these kids it represents a big mountain climbed, one they thought at one point was too big to step to. No challenge is too big if you’re committed to putting in the hard work! Great job kids! Miss Kim is super proud of you!

Yesterday the boys utilized the garden and made salsa. Today Ryatt used the abundance of zucchini and made zucchini lasagna rolls.

We were too impatient to wait for it to set up but even soupy it was a home run! I can’t wait for it to set up just in time for dinner!

After scarfing down a bowl he headed home, proudly packing some home for his family.

We also read and worked on multiplying and dividing fractions. We had to do something productive while we waited for the goodness to cook!

Learning can be fun and occasionally fattening!

The boys and I turned our garden harvest into homemade salsa and guacamole today. They stepped outside their comfort zone and even tried guacamole after refusing for years. I think it’s safe to say it passed inspection! Thirty seconds and it was devoured! They each took jars of salsa home to share with their families.

Fun to watch all their hard work in the garden come to fruition and teach them so many important lessons from start to finish.

If I don’t make better learners, I’ll dang sure make better chefs!

Today’s garden fix… Garden Curry Chicken Pizza, made with fresh zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, and onions from our garden. Curry chicken and sweet onion teriyaki sauce.

SOOOO GOOD!
