Disclaimer: obviously, if you have a dangerous job or you’re lifting a certain amount of weight, failure does bring with it some real risk to your safety—that’s not the kind of failure I’m talking about though! Discernment is key here (a topic for another day).

But really, once you lean into the possibility failure, magical things can happen because we relax. We still show up with intention and we do our best, but if failing doesn’t mean we suck, we’ll show up with more courage and faith in what’s on the other side.

All of this can apply to your physical fitness or yoga practice, your relationships or your career/work in the world.

What could you create, accomplish or learn if you weren’t afraid to fail? 🙌🏼

True story!

This is the power of strength training—it’s not just about aesthetics! For me and how I love to do, I had to get myself caught up on function.

That meant strengthening medial glute, core (my hip flexors were taking over), working isometrics and also NOT stretching to let the micro tear at the top of my Iliotibial band heal. From injury to healing it took about 9 months.

3 months of confused pain (in denial). 3 months of rest/assessment. 3 months of targeted training.

Feels great to dance hard like this again and be pain free. 😍

The only down side is I went to bed really late last night. 😅

But the resilience of this body! This is why I believe in strength training and keep at it. No shortcuts. Create the adaptation to perform. Simple and clear.
