Had the pleasure of performing Brahms with cellist Jonathan Lin at the San Diego International Airport’s Sunset Cove performance space. From travelers beginning adventures to those returning home, it was a joy to share live music with everyone passing through.

I’m often asked…”HOW DID YOU GET SO GOOD AT THE PIANO?”

And the answer is not everyone’s, but it is simple:

Honestly, the first two years are rather unremarkable and unmemorable…my mom made me practice and do my music theory homework (you’ll thank your parents later😉), I remember it as boring and a chore…then I got used to practicing. Once I learned a couple songs I liked to play (and kept being challenged), I maintained the motivation to continue lessons. After my 4th year I had the opportunity (funding-wise) to take from a professional piano teacher who improved my technique and overall understanding of piano…which kept my life on the musical path of practicing, performing, and studying. The rest is just like any other musician addicted to their instrument and/or performing for people.
