We did it again! The 4th Annual HBCU & Workforce Fair was an absolute hit! Schools from across Central PA joined us for a day of education, HBCU pride, workforce opportunities, scholarship, engagement, and fun!

Today's Session Highlight: The Central PA Game Devs!

This is a new session this year. Andrea Savaria Perez and her colleagues will lead a session on careers in Gaming Development. A lot of students enjoy Xbox and other systems, but these professionals know what it takes to make a career out of a passion. We are excited to have them on board!

The Central PA HBCU & Workforce Fair is announcing our first t-shirt sale! T-shirts are $25 and are available in medium, large, and x-large only. Since this is our first run, we are limiting the number of shirts and sizes available.
Here’s how to purchase a t-shirt: Visit our website, then scroll to the t-shirt order section. All sales will go through the YWCA donation portal. Enter your billing information, then write your size in the “Additional Comments” box at the bottom. We will not mail any t-shirts to customers; Instead, t-shirts must be picked up at two locations (see details below). Yes, it’s that easy.

What you need to know:
Write your t-shirt size in the “additional comments” box at the bottom of the page.
Include your phone number and/or email so we may contact you, if needed.
T-shirt pickup locations:
The Central PA HBCU & Workforce Fair on Monday, October 20, 2025 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dickinson College, Holland Union Building (HUB), 28 N. College St, Carlisle, PA 17013 **Signs will be posted.

Today, we are proud to highlight workforce presenters. Robert V. and Local 520 Plumbers & Pipefitters Union and Training Center members will talk about obtaining an apprenticeship and the benefits of a career in the trades. We will also have Norman B. on hand to talk about ways to become an electrician. We are excited to have them on board!

This year's HBCU & Workforce Fair on October 20th will feature a Professor Panel! Students will have an opportunity to engage with Dr. Jamonn Campbell, Dr. Ebonnie L. Vazquez, and Dr. Allison Watts! Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about college life from the experts! Our esteemed moderator is Contrell Armor, Director of the Pennsylvania Statewide After School/Youth Development Network!

Our 2025 Event will take place on Monday, October 20th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free event, which will include breakfast and lunch will feature 25+ HBCU & Workforce Reps from institutions such as Howard, Hampton, Spelman, Alabama A&M, Lincoln, and more. UPMC, PHRC, PA Government Agencies, Barber Institute and more will be there as well! We will have learning sessions in Careers in Gaming, Greek Life, Athletics, and the Military. Last but not least, we will offer a $500 book scholarship, essay and resume writing assistance, and a fashion show!
