Calling all students! Our school has added a new program, Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering. This program will start in Fall 2026. We are accepting applications now, and funded positions are available. Now is a great time to pursue a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at SIU-C.

Congratulations, Janith Dassanyake, on winning the "Best Paper" award in wireless communications at the IEEE 16th Annual Computing and Communication Workshop and Conference in Las Vegas, NV, earlier this month.

This semester the schools of ECBE and MAME came together to show off the end of semester senior design projects. It was great to work with Dr. Peter Filip on putting this together, and hopefully we will see our produce even stronger engineers by combining our efforts in the future.

Welcome back to SIU-C, Dr. Steven Blair.

Dr. Steven Blair joined us at SIUC in 2023. He specializes in optics, sensors, and computer vision. His work advances biomedical imaging and image-guided surgery, bringing cutting-edge visualization tools closer to real clinical use.

As of Fall 2025 our BS in Biomedical Engineering is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). This is a big deal that allows students from SIU-C to be qualified for all jobs within the Biomedical Engineering field.
