On MLK Day, and every day, we long to be intentionally caring for our siblings and neighbors. We remember the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. and continue to do the work of bringing love to those around us.
Life is hard and it is easy to feel hopeless. We are being worn down physically and emotionally. Yet in this passage, Paul says "we do not lose heart." How is this possible when things are hard? We must live with a perspective of eternity. We can have hope because of an eternity spent in the glory of God, which is beyond all comparison. We can put our hope in the unseen things that are eternal, the things of the kingdom of God that will last forever and ever.
For our first chapter night of the semester, we're going to have some fun hanging out together! Meet us at the bowling alley in the student center at 7pm on Thursday for some bowling, games, and fun :)

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal." - Matthew 6:19-20
Where are you storing your treasure?

It's a great spot to view the sunset 🌅, go on a walk with some friends, or have some quiet time on your own! 😌
Just stopping by for a summer check-in...how are you doing? 😎 What else is on your summer agenda?
Our second stop on our sights of Southern IL series is Inspiration Point! It's about 40 minutes from campus, but worth the trip for the beautiful view! There's a short hiking trail and then this stellar view where you can see for miles and miles 😍
When we cry out to God, he hears us. He desires for us to speak to him - with the praise for him and thankfulness, and even the moanings and complaints. He will always listen and care for us!
We're starting a series of sharing places we love in Southern Illinois, and first up is Giant City State Park located less than 15 minutes away from Carbondale. Giant City has breathtaking views and unlimited opportunities for recreation including hiking, fishing, camping, rock climbing, and more. We love seeing God's creation in the natural beauty at Giant City! 🏕️🍂 What are your favorite places in Southern IL?
