Saturday, May 16th, the BMAC Sr. Brothers attended the 5th Annual Col. Vandy Miller Sr. Kappa Luncheon at Martin’s Crosswinds in Greenbelt, MD. The speaker for the luncheon was Senior Grand Vice Polemarch, Rob Jenkins, Jr, ESQ.

Bowie/Mitchellville Alumni Chapter Kappa League
2025–2026 End of Year Reflection
As we conclude another outstanding Kappa League year, we celebrate the growth, accomplishments, and dedication of our young men. Throughout the 2025–2026 program year, our Kappa Leaguers demonstrated leadership, scholarship, service, and achievement while embracing the principles of Guide Right and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
This year was filled with impactful experiences, including leadership development workshops, college and career readiness activities, mentoring sessions, community service projects, educational programs, and fellowship opportunities. Our young men participated in highway cleanups, Thanksgiving food packaging, toy drives, conferences, mentoring initiatives, community outreach events, and a successful golf clinic that introduced valuable life skills and networking opportunities.
We proudly recognize our graduating seniors who have earned acceptance into colleges and universities across the country. Their hard work, perseverance, and commitment to excellence exemplify the ideals of Kappa League and serve as an inspiration to those who follow.

🔴🔵 Bowie-Mitchellville Kappa League Presents: Career Exposure Opportunity! 🔵🔴
Our young men had the opportunity to attend the “Get in the Zone” Skilled Trades Tailgate hosted by Clark Construction in partnership with the Washington Commanders — and it was an incredible experience!
This hands-on event allowed participants to explore high-demand careers in the skilled trades through interactive activities like plumbing, electrical work, and building projects. More importantly, it exposed them to real career pathways, apprenticeships, and opportunities that do not require a traditional four-year college degree.
BMAC Kappa League, we are committed to preparing our young men for success by providing exposure to diverse career options, leadership development, and real-world experiences. Today was another step toward building futures and expanding possibilities.
👏🏾 Special thanks to Clark Construction and all partners for investing in our youth and creating opportunities that inspire the next generation of leaders and professionals.
💪🏾 Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor

“The Bowie-Mitchellville Alumni Chapter (BMAC) of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. hosted its Inaugural White Blazer Ceremony on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at City of Praise Church in Largo, MD. This historic milestone — never before celebrated in the chapter’s 23-year history — brought together 87 attendees to honor three distinguished brothers receiving White Blazer recognition: Brother Linwood Moore, initiated into the Beta Zeta Chapter (Auburn University) on May 15, 1974; and line brothers Herman Harris, Jr. and James E. Janifer, both initiated into the Alpha Phi Chapter (Virginia State University) on November 24, 1976. The event was made even more special by the presence of approximately 15 members of the Alpha Phi Chapter who traveled from various places in support of their brothers.
The evening was masterfully emceed by Brother Jonathan Nesbitt (Alpha Nu Chapter, North Carolina A&T State University, 1983), Chaired by Brother Carrington R. Carter, Sr. (Alpha Nu Chapter, North Carolina A&T State University, 1985), and Co-Chaired by Brother Kevin Taylor (Washington Alumni Chapter 1989 and 3rd BMAC polemarch).
Brother Charles E. Exum, the first Polemarch and Charter Member of BMAC who was selected as the inaugural keynote speaker. Adding further prestige to the occasion was the attendance of 72nd Laurel Wreath recipient General Dennis L. Via (Ret.), a spring 1978 initiate of the Alpha Phi Chapter.
It was truly a beautiful and auspicious celebration of brotherhood, achievement, and Kappa legacy.”
